Do you agree with george Carlin about gasoline conservation/illegal immigration?
Bush wants us to cut the amount of gas we use.The best way to stop using so much gas is to deport 11 million illegal immigrants!That would be 11 million less people using our gas.The price of gas would come down.Bring our troops home from Iraq to guard the border.When they catch an illegal immigrant crossing the border, hand him a canteen, rifle and some ammo and ship him to Iraq.Tell him if he wants to come to America then he must serve a tour in the military.Give him a soldier's pay while he's there and tax him on it.After his tour, he will be allowed to become a citizen since he defended this country.He will also be registered to be taxed and be a legal patriot.This option will probably deter illegal immigration and provide a solution for the troops in Iraq and the aliens trying to make a better life for themselves.If they refuse to serve, ship them to Iraq anyway, without the canteen, rifle or ammo.Problem solved.

As long as they are willing to serve, I don't have a problem with it. In addition, they should receive proper military training. I think military service should be a legitimate path to citizenship. I'm not sure about the gas . . .
I don't know if that really was George Carlin, and I don't care. It's a great idea in theory, isn't it? Some of us, and some of our families had to work very hard to go through legal channels to get in the US, and it does seem odd that illegal immigration is so fiercely defended. This is hilarious because it's so logical, I think. And ironic, because it's so logical, yet would never, ever happen.

He can be fairly humorous (although usually REALLY crass and vulgar), but this is one of the few times I've actually agreed with him! TOO funny! And not a bad idea!
Those coward illegals would not want to do that! They just want a damn free pass! They can't even protect their own damn country, much less ours!

Since Mexico has huge reserves of petroleum and doesn't provide any of it for the world's needs, let's take their poor off their hands and keep them on our welfare system.
All that will be required from Mexico is one barrel of crude per day per Mexican staying here.
We can start off with 12,000,000 barrels per day for those here now and work our way up from there.
