If amnesty is given, why don't you have a class action suit to recoup the money you spent to become a citizen? Oh hell, throw in pain and suffering too. We are a country of lawsuits, and the more bazaar the suit, the more likely you'll win.
not everyone was lucky enough to have a murdering..stealing..ancestor so some had to do it the old fashion way..sneak in
I don't think it's fair at all!
It took me three years just to get my green card, and I'll have to wait another three years to apply for citizenship.
It makes me mad that people who don't pay taxes, abuse the social security system and can barely speak English are being rewarded for their crime!
My boyfriend’s dad worked for and sister company in Mexico and they transferred him to California. Then they told him that he and his family could stay here, this was like in 97 though. They just NOW got their citizenship. And they spent over $10,000. And they had to keep a clean record, or it was all over.
What pisses me off more is that some of these people –who are criminals, get over it!—may possibly get amnesty when there are hard working individuals who wait and pay and stay out of trouble with the law who did it the right way. However arduous it may have been.
When is it going to stop, we might as well not even have an immigration law!

As for the illegal people that are here I have no problem with it. I know how hard it is and why they did it. I can not say that if I was poorer that I would have not done it that way too.
I do not feel that they are getting a free pass. They will pay their fine still have to pay to file the paperwork and a lawyer that understands it. They will end up paying close to what everyone else does too.
Maybe, I am the minority in compassion here that I think this bill is for the better and agree with it.
