Why is the U.S. the only country not protecting its borders with military?

We do have mlitary troops guarding the border... but, obviously there are not ENOUGH of them. I have an employee right now, who is the GA National Guard, and is deployed to "border guard" duty.
I wonder how much of our open border situation is due to NAFTA.

Think of America as a giant Montmartre or Hollywood or Las Vegas. It is a very very very wicked country. It treats all of its cities as "open cities". Open to foreign capital and intrigue. The elites see the world as a giant financial statement. They don't see human beings. They see business opportunities. That is why they are willing to destroy whatever opportunities once existed for Americans without high school diplomas or college degrees. There is practically no work that involves manufacturing and the wages of low skill jobs are suppressed by the hiring of illegals. Even worse the illegals are draining social services when they have children born here as U.S. citizens. Those kids go to public schools and hospitals. It is enough to make you want to vomit. The politicians are worse than the illegals. You can't blame the illegals for not wanting to be poor. The Mexican government is the worst for making Mexico such an awful place to live.
Well there are a few national guard units on the southern border, but there roll is highly restricted. I agree we should put active duty units there with very limited restrictions.
They don't in protect borders with military in Iceland. Iceland doesn't even have a military and hasn't had one for hundreds of years.
And if you've travelled all over the world you would have noticed how easy it is to drive across European borders.
The US isn't the only country that doesn't militarise its borders, which is the norm when neighbouring countries are allies that share good relations.
Because we don't fear our neighbors, militarily. The Canadians don't defend their border militarily for the same reason, they don't have any reason to fear us.
Since we don't have military concerns, then patrolling the border is a law enforcement duty. The military can't act as a civilian law enforcement agency, a protection built into our laws for our sake.
Because we have missiles and the air force that can do that in a moments notice. Besides with the majority of the country being surrounded by water, it would be difficult for any type of invasion. Most other countries don't have the military technology that the USA does, so they have to protect their borders with personnel.
