In other words - people nowadays, will take a position or agree with something or somebody (that they otherwise would not) as long as it supports their cause.
I know this ? doesn't necessarily belong here, but looking at some answers in this section provoked this question.

That is kind of funny how you put that. "Siding with a racist [because you agree with their position on that particular issue]" is how I would put it.
There are racists on both sides of this debate, however, my opinion is my own, and if I seem to be 'siding' with them it is because, on that particular point, we share an opinion. Which does not mean we share an opinion on anything else under the sun, necessarily.
I think the phrase you are looking for is "Politics makes strange bedfellows."
An excellent example of that is the make-up of the recent 'gang of 12' on the immigration bill.

No. I have my own beliefs. I will not sacrifice my integrity to further "a cause" of any sort. The only cause I see is keeping America free (free from illegals, free from invasion, free for We, the People, etc).
