hi there, My wife has just been granted a 2 year UK Spouse Visa - issue date 20-2-2007. Is there a time limit to which she must enter the UK? and once she enters the UK, is she free to tavel back to her home country or any other country without any time limits? I know the Visa does not allow her to obtain any public funds but does going to the GP and registering on the NHS count? thanks in advance.
Answer:
She has 6 months to enter the UK.
You must live together which means that in a period of 2 years and she cannot be out of the country more than 180 days total.
And of course she'll have no recourse to public funds and that includes NHS so you'll need private medical cover.
hi there
I am on a UK unmarried visa, which is identical to UK married visa. I cannot help you on the time needs to be in the UK, but she is free to travel back on holiday. I am registered on the NHS and will receive treatment. Treatment is for free but medication there is a small charge as there will be for UK residents. However, I can not claim any benefits like child, pension, job seekers. Hope that helps.
