What will the agriculture industry do once they start having to pay taxes on the illegal immigrants?
Answer:
they will replace them
Many agribusinesses do pay taxes, as in withholding. So too do Construction companies. There are also some that tell workers that they are witholding taxes and are actually just keeping part of the pay.
actually I think the financial resources we send to other countries should be re routed into the American farmer, there by making the farmer a Govt. employee. They would then have the same guidelines as other govt. agencies. It would also, increase our own economy, by giving money back to US, sending crops and livestock to 3rd worlds, instead of money. The american farmer is a dying breed and if we dont' do something we are screwed.
This way they would have to report all employees as govt. officials, therefore, taxing them.
Update: I'm not talking about corporate agriculture actually. But even so, those are actually ran and survive because of the American farmer. That is where the problems are arising tax wise, etc...
I know all too well the American farmer is nearly gone. As I am a product of American farming family. I have married a product of the American Farming Family, and I have witnessed first hand the devistation of the farming community by our Own govt. there is only one good solution to get the farmer up and running again. The govt. must step in. It would increase our economy, and still give to the other countries to full fill our promised obligations.
Remember, those corporations in the Agriculture business are actually made up of small farms who are getting paid by the corporation, who are screwing the consumers. The price of produce, milk, eggs and meat have sky rocketted. By making the farmer govt. employees the cost of living can come down, the corporations will cave, and they lose their monopoly. Those corporations are the ones pushing for illegal immigrant employment, they have made a lot of money off of the immigrant. If the govt. won't rid of this practice, the next best thing is to bankrupt them, as they have the american farmer.
Use the difference between the mexican pay rate, and the american pay rate to pay them off. That's a good 6 or 7 dollars per hour per immigrant. Which adds up to a bout 240-280 a week per person.
Neither pro nor anti immigration really has a good solution.
