How many people have changed their position on illegal immigration due to the actions of those here illegally?
Answer:
There are lots of illegals here that have made good lives for themselves. There are also lots of illegals here that commit crimes, from petty to heinous.
First thing to remember, if someone is here illegally, that, by default, makes him or her a criminal, and subject to prosecution per the laws of our United States Constitution. If you want to come here, fill out the paperwork.
Someone that would come here and reside here illegally, even to do good things, shows poor moral character, and we have enough poor moral character just in Vegas, nevermind the rest of the country. We don't need it sneaking across the borders.
Evict the illegals, and get the welfare bums off their asses to do the work that the illegals are doing.
Two birds, one stone.
supported deportation from the first day i ran into an illegal....
no but I have lost friendslike my peruvian friend whom is illegal,,we started this conversation about immigration,,,and he was way off base,,,calling white people this and that,,,and calling his people better at everything, It was really depressing,,becuase we used to have a good friendship
its funny how people can be closet racists,,,,his mind was totally poisoned
No I have not. I think everyone deserves a chance as long as they arent HARD CORE criminals, and believe me I have a very hard time with half my family Mexican and the other half American and very racist.
No, still against people and companies stealing from the taxpayers
I did, when an ex- starts talking bad about that Bush is an evil etc...And that Ilegals should get anmisty ect...I think he should be thankful to be here...He shut up when I ask why he was here? He answer me that was because he can't afford a living in Mexico...So I make him think...And break with him...
everyone should get over themselves on this issue.
singling out illegals due to their actions.. means only prejudiced assumptions.
we have trouble with our legals also..
and most illegals do the work that us legals don't want to do.
and they bring money into our economy.
they also pay taxes...
ignorance is bliss is it not?
I haven't changed the way I feel about illegal aliens. The very first thing they did to get here was to break the law. They CONTINUE to break the law by stealing REAL Americans identities so that they can find work. They ALL need to be deported, and drastic changes along our borders need to be instated and enforced. Illegal is illegal - get out.
I have, the marches made me realize how many there were in a gut fashion ( I always figured it was a marginal amount of people). Once I looked into it and realized how much of the LAUSD school problems result from illegal immigration, I became adamantly anti.

mr. dorkface, what is a legitimate reason to single people out, if not based on their 'actions'? Now if it were based on their race or religion or something like that, it might be illegitimate. However, everyone is responsible for their actions. Their actions are ruining our schools. And on the crime and service fund draining side, granted we can't get rid of our own losers, we don't want to import more.

and to the post below, I know that a PERCENTAGE of them pay taxes, but also that many do it to get credits. They are too poor, as a class, to pay enough taxes even to cover the $10,000 per student per year k-12 education costs, much less to cover the other services their families use. That is why we have limits on how many poor people can come, to begin with.
Last year I saw a person I knew was an illegal alien at a Jackson Hewitt filing taxes, I curiously asked this guy how could he file taxes if he was illegal, he showed me his ITIN, after some research with the IRS, I found out that millions of illegals pay taxes using these ITIN #s.
Now that's an action they commit that changed my position, from anti to a more tolerant American.
This action also proves wrong the assumption that immigrants don't pay taxes.
Go ahead with the thumbs down because I know this might not be what you wanted to hear.... well good luck.
me absolutely.....until I had my mexican neighbors steal off me, trash my car, disrespect me, etc...not just one group but two....All this despite the fact that when they moved in I gave them a bed, couch and various other furniture and mowed part of their lawn among other nice gestures. I wasnt awake yet to the pure lack of appreciation not to mention sheer prejudice that mexicans have against the country that they are now unwelcome guests in.
I didn't really know about immigration when I first got on my own. I lived in a very small community and there where no other people other than white people for miles. But, I do and don't think it's a problom. So, I guess yes it has.
Mine hasn't changed. If anything I am even stronger anti ILLEGAL immigration. After reading stats about crime rates involving them and how much FREE everything they get, it makes me sick. On top of that, look how much it takes them to have their "anchor babies" on our tax dollars. I personally am sick on going to ER/MD's and seeing it full of immigrants. Our health dept here has had to hire people JUST to translate Spanish so they can get their flu shots, TB tests, birth control (maybe) for what $3.00 a visit (or medicaid people pay nothing). Our taxes are paying for their "BETTER LIFE".. I want a better life.. I want to go to college free and live rent free, get hundreds of dollars a month in food stamps, etc. WHO DO I TALK TO .
Not me, I'm not a follower like many others on here.
i have supported deportation since 83, the year i was born. as i grew older and witnessed the many hit and run accidents by illegals who are afraid of being caught, the herding on sidewalks at my local 7-11 and home depot, the free benefits they receive for being poor (but come to America because they say they want a better life), the gangs, drug trafficking and the fact that when my family was struggling growing up, my mother couldn't receive assistance because they said she made to much ($17,000) and we went to bed hungry some nights all the while illegal criminals stomachs are very full and in a warm government funded home. This is why i say they drain government assistance and should be deported back to where they come from. People who really need assistance cannot get it because these criminals are leaking it. They form these gangs and ruin neighborhoods. and are more subject to lead a life of crime since they cannot be documented and cannot be caught.
That can go both ways, there are illegals who live here peacefully and really are working to obtain a better life, and there are some who are just here for a free ride. I guess I am swayed by the people I know and work with.
I beleived they all shoud be deported years ago. Then when I found out no one was enforcing our laws, I thought ok, maybe some that have been here for years and haven't committed any further crimes. .Then when Elvira pulled her stunt and everytime any citizens even try to have any of our other laws enforced and all the hate being spewed......I realized there was no way to come to any compromise ...... so now I could care less about any of them. I want them gone period. They can scream and demand and spew whatever hate they want
or try their "sob stories" and it just makes me more and more determined to have them be sent back from wherever they came from.
