To people who have crossed the border from Mexico only, how can we help?

to make your return across the border better for you? What can we do to keep your family together and let you know that no harm will come to you as you journey home? Americans are not out to kill you - we just want you to follow our laws.

I would propose that if you are willing to leave on your own, that you would be welcomed back legally by going through immigration system - which we will work hard to improve so that it is fair for everyone.

Wouldn't it be better for you if we helped you to move back to your country than to wait for ICE to deport you? What do you need?

Please, no flip answers about how the US is your land - that is not what this question is about. We can't help you if you don't tell us what you need to help you return safely. I know that many of you are afraid that you will be loaded up in a bus and hauled away with your children separated from you. No one wants that. What can we do to help you?

Answer:
Good ideas!

I often wondered if these folks are grateful that they were ever allowed to make a dime taking an Americans job.
By letting them cross.
Illegal invaders don't want our help to go home until they have stolen all they can
They don't want to go back. They want the easiest way out, not the legal path, not the complicated path and that is to stay here and live off our nation. I doubt you get many real answers from them.
unfortunately, they're not going anywhere
You fail to understand their Mindset, here in Texas, I already
Heard the LULAC President vow its not over till they say its
over. I called their National Headquarters, and told them to stop their rhetoric and they hung up on me.
Well said !
thoughtful of you but don't think they got computers.
I did not cross the border illegally, as I am an American born and raised. I do have family and friends who have endured the journey. Alot of them entered legally, but overstayed their "welcome". This is what my best friend had to say.

"You say we would be welcomed back, but we all know that would not be the case. There is nothing that you can do to make that transition back home better for us. You are not the ones who have to live with the fact of knowing, where you are going to get money from to get medicine for your dying mother, to get food on the table for your hungry kids, to pur clothes on their backs. It's easy for you to sit there and say all these nice words, and to try and make us believe that this is how you will treat us upon return after years and years of waiting for the system to work. It's not the fact of going back home, we would love nothing more to go back home and be with family, but the question lies on how we will provide for our families. Either way we are left to struggle with something no one should ever have to go through to get your family what they need."
Hola I am from Mexico I want my family over here with out getting shot.Is it possible?
I agree.after seeing the housing for those waiting to be deported.it's not necessarily the conditions that are bad.it's the time spent there and the endless not knowing what's next that is cruel.

I mean parents of missing children or even adults.it's the NOT knowing that is painful. Personally...I can deal with just about anything.except being put on hold.

I would be angry if it took 15 years for a country to decide if I was worthy or not. I would be mad if I was picked up and held for a year.let alone for 3 or more just because I was the wife or child of a criminal. I do beleive there is something to say for a timely manner in alot of these things.

I just wish they'd say that instead of acting like they are mistreated. Many are living better than where they came from, or better than law abiding citizens are. It's the length of time. Lost time.

THAT I do agree with. Just don't play the abuse card etc. I know it was a bad film about the kids being held in detention centers. But they were fed..saw no starving kids there. Their complaints weren't about having to get it on with a guard.it was about books, toys.

I personally think it's wrong for the extreemly, lengthy time to let someone know if it's a go or not. I HATE not knowing.

They are doing that to us. Keeping people on high alert and dangling the dis-appearing carrot.doesn't work well. People don't function well like that. I don't care if you're scouring for berries or what it is....people crave and NEED some sort of consistancy. Whether it be the seasons or what it is. People knew when to plant food and save it..they knew strawberries didn't grow in January.you make decisions and plan accordingly. Now...24/7.we're on high alert. NOTHING is the same from one day to the next.

No..there's alot that's needs reform. Please.I agree with you..tell me what it is..not the I don't LIKE it stuff...they do have reasonable and legitamet complaints..what are they? Who is behind this? I just don't beleive that when our country has been here all this time.that all of a sudden.25 million people do this without some reason.
