Whose side is Chertoff on?” Chertoff has a “gut feeling”?
Maybe if he hadn’t spent so much time, energy, and capital lobbying for the open borders agenda of Big Business and Big Agribusiness, I’d put more faith in Chertoff’s concerns–and in his ability to do anything about them. ABC News reports that the White House has convened an “urgent” meeting for Thursday to deal with the “new threat” (you know, same as the old national security threats that got ignored during the shamnesty debacle):
Top intelligence and law enforcement officials have been told to assemble in the Situation Room to report on:
–what steps can be taken to minimize or counter the threat,

We're paying him the big bucks to have a 'gut feeling'...
Maybe he would have more imput & info if he didn't spend his time preventing our borders from being secured.
My gut feeling is .if they're here, and they probably are...they came in through our unprotected southern borders!
And I'm holding him responsible and all the others who have stonewalled this border problem.
My gut feeling is that if Chertoff and "Homeland Security" (I hate that term, it sounds like something out of Janet Reno's dreams) don't feel a pressing need to secure the border or enforce the immigration laws, that his gut feeling probably can't be trusted when it comes to national security.
Then again, maybe he's playing it smart - leaving the border open, basically a "ENTER THE COUNTRY HERE" sign to terrorists, would make it easier for a terrorist attack. Another terrorist attack would mean the federal government (including Mr. Chertoff's DHS) could make a case that they need even more money and more power.
Answer:
Can you believe it? They have wire-tapped, they have a billion dollar NSA, FBI and CIA, they have video taping, they can check your library books, tap your phones...
Billions of dollars of military "spy" equipment. All of this and we are supposed to rely upon Chertoffs "guts"???
Something is very, very wrong here folks.
When will the madness end?
Does that even make sense? Well he says we can't secure the border(s) and he is not going to even try but he has a gut feeling that a terrorist attack is in the works this summer... What are the qualifications for his job again?
President Bush need Sack Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security Chertoff like yesterday!
Gut feeling isn't going protect us from terrorism it's Homeland Security job to do that
I think you pretty much answered your own question. He works for the war machine. He is hyping everyone up with scare tactics right before the review of the progress report on Bush's surge. Get everyone scared so they support funding that God-forsaken war where we can kill all the "terrorists" by knocking door to door in a country during a civil war.
It's been a very profitable run for a few very powerful people, and they don't want to see it slip away.
I've been having a "gut feeling" that something awful will happen since bush signed this bill.

Mark my words.
Look for something to happen just before the next election.
.
NeoConservatism at it's best I don't know why Bush hasn't given him a medal yet.
