actually, you can do something...dont patronize companies thaty use illegals...vote for politicians who dont pander to illegals...and certainly dont hire them...let your view be known....when people who break the law can think they can intimidate you into being quiet about it, they have won....
I know that little old me can't do diddly squat about the illegal alien criminal problem, but I like to rant about it and I'm glad I'm not the only one that is pissed.

No, I disagree. When we discuss the travesty of illegal immigration it lets us all know that it is NOT all right to break the law at the expense of actual US citizens. It also spurs those of us on the line to write their representatives and demand that they do NOT support amnesty.

I agree, and it is sad because WE are RIGHT and the supporters are WRONG legally. They think they are in the right morally, but first of all any time you put yourself in a situation where others are responsible for your care simply because you broke the law is wrong morally itself. Not only that, but supporting illegal immigration the way it is now is the same as turning your back on poor LEGAL CITIZENS and LEGAL immigrants!!

I was married to a woman who came to the US legally. Her half-brother came here 8 times illegally, and we supported the government's deportation of him. If you can't do it right, then don't bother trying. Not unless there is a really good international reason to do so, such as being a refugee, or a seeker of assylum.

Woe, I don't think we have to get that polarized.
We have real enemies, you know, and the vast majority of illegal immigrants are not our country's enemies, whatever else they may be.
I agree that immigration has to be brought under control, in part because we DO have enemies who can sneak in with the others.
I think our nation made a big mistake in the 1970s and after, by not regularizing the immigration situation. Of course most of the illegal immigrants were nice hard-working people, so people here tended to welcome them and ignore the law. This was the mistake; if we wanted the immigrants, we should have made the immigration legal, but most of us didn't think of that at the time.
Now we have a situation where generations of people who immigrated illegally, or whose parents or grandparents did, are afraid of the law instead of supportive of it, and it didn't have to be that way.
Well, now we have to find ways of bringing the law and reality together, and to foster more respect for the law among immigrants and natives alike.
Another disadvantage to our policy of ignoring immigration law is that it provided a safety valve for Mexicans to escape from a corrupt situation at home. As a result, reform in Mexico has probably been delayed considerably.
I dont agree with illegal immigrants coming into this country and abusing the American system, but if you think about it, who will do the jobs that they (Hispanics) do? Are you going to go out in the fields and pick lettuce for 2 bucks an hour? Or do you think that African Americans are gonna go do it? Dont count on it. Its all comedy, but he makes VERY strong points about many things, even if he comes across as a jerk, use your head and you will see that alot of what he says is true.
