What do I need for a minor to travel with me if I'm not the parent?
Answer:
No but it is a smart idea for the aunt who is traveling with you to have a permission to treat form for both of you. That allows her to get ER care in any accident.
They cant give temp guardianship to you as you are a minor only to the aunt who will travel with you.
As long as her parents consent, you don't need any court order. You should, as previously noted, get a power of attorney or permission form, to allow you or your aunt to authorize medical treatment if necessary. It wouldn't hurt to have the parents just sign a brief note indicating that you have their authority.
The best thing to have is a notorized letter signed by both of the parents in case anything happens and you are questioned. If you have that, you won't need any other documentation
Yup...I agree with the previous posts. I always send a consent to treat form with my daughter when she goes to her grandparent's for the summer. God forbid she should need medical attention, it would eliminate a ton of problems if you have that paper. It simply needs to be a paper signed by the child's parents saying that it's OK for you to seek medical attention for their child.
