I've heard the arguement that 15 years ago - illegal immigrants were used to build the very same huge houses that the people who want them OUT live in now. It was okay to use that labor THEN - but it isn't now.
Every law abiding, tax paying citizen pays the cost of illegal immigration.
I live in Houston, Texas. We are considered to be the closest 'sanctuary' city. My neighborhood is prodominately hispanic. I don't mind the ethnic differences. I do however mind the fact that several - at least 3 that I'm aware of - have purchased homes, and couldn't afford them, and did a disappearing act. How exactly do you make an illegal immigrant pay for a bad debt? It affects me personally - property values, taxes, etc.
The arguement that they pay taxes... okay, maybe they do when the shop at Walmart, or whereever - but the handouts have to stop.
We have classes taught in Houston - SPECIFICALLY designed to teach illegals how to get on welfare/foodstamps etc.
Doesn't cost me anything? Oops - there goes my tax rate even higher cause I'm busting my *** trying to make a better life for my family.
I'd rather pay $7 for a dang hamburger that was made by some kid that they have to pay $8 bucks an hour than have additional taxes because an illegal immigrant went to the local hospital emergency room for a darn sinus infection.
NOTHING IS FREE. Despite everyone's assurances that 'they' don't have to pay anything - eventually it all has to be accounted for. Want to help fix the healthcare system? Stop allowing undocumented illegal aliens free healthcare. The prices would drop CONSIDERABLY.
We keep giving into the 'mob' mentality - and it royally t's me off. Illegal is ILLEGAL. We had - spring of last year - a local high school - Reagan - where the kids protested - put the MEXICAN flag up in front of the school. I'm suprised every gun wielding Texas didn't show up in arguement.
Oops - they were probably working to pay their tax bill.
Send them ALL back - individually or as a family. Let our economy struggle with the reduction in healthcare, and welfare, and food stamps, and the additional costs of having our sales ads, and license tests and the other 14 billion documents that now have to be in multiple languages.
I'd rather we have a bump on our economy because we have to pay a few dollars more, and a REDUCTION in the amount it's COSTING us to take care of the illegals.

There are other good reasons to oppose the influx of huge masses of unassimilated illegals into the country, even withoput the economic argument.

If you employ illegals then you should take care of them too. Why do you employ? If chances of employment are less no one would attempt to illegally enter and stay. It is your fault.
I got it. Unfortunatly so many think their low pay is keeping our prices down. LOL NOTHING has dropped in price....so big businesses savings sure isn't getting passed down to me and my taxes keep going up to cover the rest.

Ok so lets do some facts...most of you believe that illegals steal SSN..ok so with that stolen SSN they are working and paying taxes. The ones who get paid under the table are the few and inbetween...lets not forget to mention the ones who have a valid ITIN and not a stolen SSN who pay taxes.
So please explain to me how you are paying the difference in wages and benefits? It would seem to me that Illegals who take the lower pay w/o benefits would leave open the door for YOU to be paid a higher wage with the money the company saved.

not very but to some people it is. I see where you're going. for many it is hard to believe but it is a truth that we must face.
YOU just hit upon something. Call your representatives and tell them that if they even *think* about giving amnesty and all the programs that go along with it, that BIG BUSINESS, the ones who have benefitted from employing the criminals, should foot the bill, not the common tax payer.

Good Lord, have you followed the money? Who do you think pays for the il-legals when they go to an emergency room or for an extended stay in hospital. Such as:
2 months back a good friend of mine was killed in an auto accident. He was broad sided at a red light by an IL-Legal. No Drivers License. No Insurance. 20+ days in the hospital for this scum bag and a bill of $37,000.00+.
Did the rich pay for this bill? Yes and so did every other tax payer in America. And, by the way, he left behind 3 young children and a wife! Sick of this CRAP!!

SSN's can be bought on street corners in many cities.in North Carolina, Washington DC., Philadelphia, New York, to mention just a few. POST YOUR SSN IF IT"S NO BIG PROBLEM!! About as sick as you can get!

Um...you fail to realize that the rich pay most of the taxes. So the rich get richer, while they pay most of the expenses that the illegals incur. If anything, that sounds quite fair.
