What would be the ideal approach for a woman who is going thru a divorce to apply for a new passport in India? Her husband has avoided her calls and the her lawyers calls and messages. Can she mention "Single " as the marital status in the passport? will it b a problem later? Or if she states "married" will the passport authorities approach or ask her husband's consent?? how does the procedure go and what is the best way to acquire her passport.. Please Advise..
Answer:
Apply as married and then after she is divorced she will be free from him, not worth the chance for her to say she is single and when the process her application find she is married, then she may never get a passport.
