Did you see another Swift Raid Illegals found again using stolen identities? Time to make this a felony?
Officials with the United Food and Commercial Workers Union said agents did not appear to use the "same level of intimidation and overkill" as raids in December that resulted in more than 1,200 immigrant workers being arrested at plants in six cities.
"To the extent this is the case, the UFCW supports law enforcement efforts that abide by the law and respect the rights of workers," the Washington-based union said in a statement. ICE spokeswoman Virginia Kice said two people were arrested on warrants unrelated to the agency's identity theft investigation. While ICE agents were at the plant, they discovered one person with a traffic warrant from the Greeley Police Department and another with a prior criminal offense that made the person deportable, Kice said.
However, spokesman Carl Rusnok called the arrests "targeted," and said warrants were executed on people identified as using stolen identities reported to the Federal Trade Commission. Speaking from Dallas, Rusnock said Tuesday's actions were part of an ongoing look into undocumented immigrants at the plants.
Dave Minshall, spokesman for Local No. 7, said agents had at least 40 arrest warrants for suspects in Greeley; Cactus, Texas; Marshalltown, Iowa; and Worthington, Minn.
Four people were questioned at the Greeley plant, Minshall said.
Rusnok declined Wednesday to confirm any arrests in Greeley. He said the agency would release details of the "worksite enforcement operation" later.
In the December raids, no charges were filed against Swift, a Greeley, Colo., which bills itself as the world's second-largest beef and pork processor.
Answer:
Thanks, hadn't heard about that.
Yes, it needs to be a felony, for the person with the fake ID, and for the company that repeatedly hires people with fake ID. I tell you, they get deported and come back with a whole new fake ID and new name, and just start over. I live in a border state, it happens.
If companies who hire these illegals were fined dearly, we would have the money right there to deport all the illegals. No need for tax payers who paid those illegals spouses welfare and food stamps to pay to deport them. And look at the new job openings available for legal workers.
Thanks for the story.
It's time to make it a felony to employ them.
Great news! Thanks a lot! Yes, time to make it a felony to employ illegals!
Charges need to be filed against Swift and large fines levied so the rest of the sell out companies get the message.
Hi ho, hi ho, the CEO goes to jail.
that would put an end to it.
If we make it a felony, it will encourage companies to outsource production, so we end up getting food from abroad. Therefore, we would need to ensure a comprehensive package of disincentives to outsource abroad. On that basis, I would support your view. It is time to make employers who do not support the US economy pay their fair share.
The arrests of both the employers and the illigals that use stolen documents should be a common practice. Until the employers are jailed and or fined the problem will just get worst. The suits and the illigals should both be placed in tent jails together.
Politicians still think we want to sell our souls and identies for meat apparently. They claim we need illegals for cheaper meat, excuse me,the meat I buy in the store cost more right now than it ever has,Not to mention while corporations are making the extra money for cheap labor the common man pays taxes for illegals government assistance because they are low income with anchor babies.I will not vote for any political correct president,I will vote for one that inforces the law,and one that brings our kids home to take care of our own country.
To even have somone else's social security is a FELONY and carries a 20 year sentence. Write to Tom Tancredo, your Congress person and demand that they make it happen. Americans are being cheated and their reputations and credit ruined. Innocent people have gone to jail and or threatened with incarceration for things they have not done.
