Since we the people of america defeated this nonsense immigration bill dont you?
Answer:
Not just Bush...we need to insist that our current laws be enforced. Congress seems to think we are pacified just because they pass a few laws here and there. If they are never enforced, what good are they? Our current federal laws are being ignored.
One . ya kinda sound like your a Bush hater anyway, Second... There isn't a democrat one that will do any better when they get into the oval office. Reality, what a concept.
It's not as easy as you make it out to be. I am not a Bush fan, never have been. But securing, or closing the boarder is something that has been attempted for a long time. Sorry, but sneaking into the US isn't a felony; it just gets you a one-way ticket back to Mexico. Should it be a felony? NO. Why should we overcrowd our already overcrowded prisons with Mexicans trying to sneak in to pick fruit? Too much tax drain.
LoriK- Congress passes laws; that's all they do. They do not enforce the law that is for police and federal marshals and FBI. Get your agencies straight if you want to fuss about laws not being enforced.
Walls don't work. That has already been proven. It seems like a good idea (and something that Bush proposed), but it only gives a false sense of security. If monkeys can climb fences, Mexicans can get over or under walls, no problem. They have already dug numerous sophisticated tunnels. Walls won't deter anyone.
Should all the illegals be made legal? That is a tough one, because if they are legal, they pay taxes. If they remain illegal, they live outside the system, but drain it at the same time. Remember, sneaking into the US is not a felony, and we don't want it to be. It's a crappy circle we are stuck in.
Here is a scary thought for you. Legalizing all the illegals and Hillary as president. Then she gets her way and passes socialized medicine. Wonder just how high your taxes will go?
Nothing will change, Bush's friends still need cheap labor, its going to be business as usual, The same amount of people will continue to cross the border. It was a battle lost, not a war won, being that I mentioned war,I have not heard any of you complaining about immigrants taking anglo jobs in Iraq. Why is that?? Why are these jobs not an issue to the real americans , 9.5 percent of hispanic 's representation in the actively enlisted forces, represent over 17.5 percent of personnal on the front lines! DOD statistic show a casualty rate of more than 13 percent for hispanic people in Iraq.
"What can we say of the young Latino men who sacrificed their lifes in Iraq? That they fought without knowing their enemy, played their role as pawns in a geopolitical chess game devised by arrogant bureaucrats, and died simply trying to get an education; trying to have a fair shot at theAmerican Dream that has eluded the vast majority of Latinos for over century and a half"

There is a war going on today, that could be fought by so many you answer (ers) that advocate war. There are not enough people in the Armed forces today, where are you "Real Americans" your country needs you and those hispanic's are taking the jobs that americas can do . Why do you not put your actions where your mouth is, ( its safer sitting behind your computer, isn't it Bruce)
