The tests required for receiving citizenship in America?

I was wondering if anyone knew a website where I could either see the test that is required for attaining citizenship or at the very least a practice test. While I am a citizen (I was born in America to parents who also are both citizens born in America), I am curious as to what is required of those who weren't born in America to become citizens.

First and foremost, I am curious to know how many Americans could pass the test; secondly, I am curious to see if I could pass the test myself. My guess would be it has mostly to do with history and government, and possibly some to do with language (specifically English--or rather American, which incidentally no longer really sounds like English anyway).

I was mostly just curious to see if I was good enough still to pass it; and the best way to find out is to take the test. Anyone know where I can try?

Answer:
msnbc had a test about just that a while back

These are 20 questions that are commonly found on the US civics test used during the process of naturalization. To pass the INS usually expects you to get about 80% correct. So see for yourself.
I doubt most AMericans would pass it, but I erally don't know where a current practice exam is. THe problem is that I feel the test does not cover whats important. The principle of America, but then again. most Americans have forgotten it too.
You said, I am curious to know how many Americans could pass the test. Sounds like this is some sort of if Americans can not pass the test , why should it be required of illegals. Then you put down English language. Well!! my answer is this. We Americans were really born here, built this country, fight for this country, supported millions of illegals from mexico and other countries for our entire adult life, and still doing it, and still getting more cram down our throats, so we have passed the test already.
You answered your own question as far as the test it's self.
It's history, language, etc as you already said.
Also laws.
As far as the test on line or a sample of it, I have no clue..
I would like to know this too. I have family interested in coming here to the states and they want to know where and how to take this test.
I look forward to the answers to this.
Also, you are so correct about this language is loosing it's class for sure.
People don't know how to talk civil anymore, foul words are more and more "acceptable".
It makes me sad and sick.
Dude, that's just like if you took the ACT exam and already got into college ... and, like, wanting to go take the SAT's just to see how well you would've done.

What's the point?

There is a long list at the site below.
Guess I remember history classes better than I thought.
Most of these are simple...perhaps too simple.
Here's a link that may help. Although it mentions "games" it is the best sample quiz I had for you. Still it has a lot of questions, and multiple answers that are similar to citizenship test.

If you remember some of the material from you government highschool you should be able to pass the test. It is very easy, the officer would ask you three questions from the sample test. If you get all three right, you pass. If you get one wroing he then would ask you two more. If you get them right you pass.

There is an update on the test, so some of the questions will change, but so far these are the questions being ask.
