I agree with the question. I think this is all a big power play at our expense. They hate us... well dua we blew them up! we started all this! And in 10-15 years, everyone will forget it ever happen just like everything else that gets written in student's textbooks and neglected due to failure to teach. not bitter just life...

Same here in the uk, we are on terrorist alert, but still we let anybody in the country, and let them preach there hatred on the streets.

Bush's drive to close the borders is, sadly, another stupid attempt to keep out of the country so-called terrorists.
Heck, we can't even keep out the huge amount of drugs coming into the country daily. If we can't even protect our selves and our children from drugs, how in he heck how are we to protect ourselves from terrorists.
I never thought I'd be saying this, but in part I have to agree with MACHOMAN. The terrorist do come, and enter both legally, and illegally. They are funded by donations to do so.
And yes it is disgusting that Bush, and the Senators want to allow them to become legalized, and on a pathway to citizenship. They also want to include these groups too.

You have to wonder what is going on in Washington when forty-six senators vote against an amendment to keep illegal aliens who are convicted felons from being legalized. Even worse is that when a much weaker amendment was offered, thirty-two senators still voted not to restrict illegal alien felons from becoming legalized. Nearly one third of the federal prison population is already made up of illegal aliens who are in prison for crimes unrelated to their immigration status. Studies have shown that the democratic party would be the beneficiary of the new voter block if illegal aliens are legalized. I think what ticks me off most is that there are separate laws for separate nationalites, and those that are rich or poor. The same rules should apply to everyone and anyone regardless. That's the system that's broken and needs fixing as well. No more double standards when laws are broken.
