What are some legal immigration LABOR issues that are debateable?
Answer:
Whether or not we welcome enough legal immigrants into our country. The answer is yes. The USA welcomes over 2 million LEGAL immigrants every year. That's more than enough new workers.
Abuse of the H1B and L1 visas by outsourcing companies to train here then outsource labor rather than to use them to supplement workers here when Americans can't be found for the job.
The flip side is the 'agents' exploiting workers overseas to get those visas or H2Bs representing them as something they are not and making them pay a huge fee.
Also, H1B leaves a worker beholden to the employer (which is why tech didn't want a point system without an employer sponsorship requirement.)
One phony debating point is the one that states that illegal aliens are here in the United States doing work that native-born citizens "won't do."
If this is true, the people stressing this point are overlooking one BIG point!
This is the question they are not asking.
Are illegal aliens doing the work that LEGAL IMMIGRANTS "won't do."?
The answer to this particular question is a resounding, NO !
The truth is that LEGAL IMMIGRANTS who arrive here from third-world countries from all other parts of the world besides Mexico, are very willing to do even the dirtiest jobs as part of realizing their dream here in the United States.
People from Mexico are far from being the most economically desperate or hardest-working people on this planet.
I'm not saying that the people of Mexico aren't hard-working because they are hard-working.
I'm just saying they have no special monopoly when it comes to hard work.
There are hard-working people all over this planet!
I am a legal immigrant and really don`t have any LABOR issues and never have had any.As a legal Immigrant i get treated just like an American i would have to say.I live in Oklahoma and really never had anything to debate since.I am treated fair and equal. The only one and only issue i have ever really bumped into was that a lot of Americans think, that since i am an immigrant, i have special Tax privileges. No we don`t.We pay Taxes just like all other Americans.I have had a lot of co-workers think so and had to inform them of the actual fact. When it comes to the immigration bill they want to pass i would have to say it is dumb. The illegal immigrant are here already. Why send them back and make them pay a fine of $5000.00?They do work in jobs that most Americans wouldn't`t work in.I would have to say beef up boarder security so no others can come in illegally.I would say it would be wise to integrate a system to where all honest illegals would have a chance to register first.Than once cleared of any wrong doing give them a chance to become legal. The US could really profit just from that because we would have more Taxpayers.I could go on and on about this issue but it would be a long story.I just don`t see why the government won`t see the problem on hand. They try to justify something they have overlooked on purpose for so long and American Citizens are not as dumb as they thought.I do believe that they need to learn English.
If we sent all of the illegals back and let in legals who are waiting to replace them, there would be no arguement for the illegals to stay.
I say, give the businesses and the illegals a time and date, and after that, strict circumstances on any illegal found or any business that hires them.
