Are our voices ever listened too in Congress. Aren't they suppose to work for us?
Thank you for contacting me about H.R. 769, the National Language Act of 2007. I appreciate that you took the time to share your thoughts with me. The National Language Act of 2007 would establish English as the official language of the United States of America. This legislation would prohibit the use of languages other than English for official purposes other than religious activities and foreign language classes.
I am working in Congress to bring people together and not to divide our society. It is a fundamental value of our society that we respect and appreciate the diversity of American Society. While I strongly favor those who wish to become citizens learning American English, creating a national language would create a larger divide between English-speaking and non-English-speaking citizens. We must ensure that everyone in this country is afforded equal opportunity
Answer:
Vote the jerk out.
representatives can be delegates or representatives. Delegate does what you tell him to, representative considers what you say and makes his own opinion. In this case you got owned lol.
I love that letter!
What the hell did he ACTUALLY say?
I have never seen such obfuscation from ANY politician (and I remember Nixon!)
Maybe you should move to Turkey and learn to speak Turkish.
I am a conservative. I really don't care what languages are used. This is an example of Congress wasting time with the mundane instead of solving the major problems: border security, eliminating illegals, cutting spending, solving Medicare and Social Security funding.
Who is it so we can vote him out. Double talk.
