Proof of U.S citizenship, If I was born outside the U.S?
This is for forms I-485 , I-130 & I-864. I claim citizenship through naturalization of parents. Can I submit both of my parent's certificates of naturalization, my foreign birth certificate (translated & certified) , and my resident card as proof?
-My dad is the sponser on the I-864.
- Both my parents got naturalized in '99 when I was 14.
-My resident card expired in 2001.
-I was under the age of 18 in 2001
-Born in Russia in 85
-Was in CA by 1990 or 91
-Both my parents are on the birth certificate
-I know I can use those as proof for a passport.
Please anyone?
Answer:
Legally and technically if you have copies of your parents' naturalisation papers and proof of parentage and their marriage as well as your own birth-certificate showing that you were a minor at the time of your parents' naturalisation that should be all you need as proof of citizenship.
you need to get a lawyer soon.

SOUNDS LIKE YOU MIGHT NEED A LAWYER PLUS EVERYTHING YOU'VE MENTIONED ABOVE SINCE YOU WERE BORN IN RUSSIA. MY DAUGHTER WAS BORN IN D.C A YEAR AFTER YOU AND WON'T GET HER PASSPORT RENEWED BECAUSE SHE LIVES IN MY COUNTRY. SHE HAS TO UNDERGO A DNA WHICH I DOUBT WILL BE NECESSARY FOR YOU, BUT YOU MAY NEED IT AS WELL. I DON'T KNOW WHAT STATE YOU'RE IN, BUT D.C HAS SOME REAL GOOD LAWYERS. LOOK UP MAGGIO. THEY'RE THE BEST AND COULD REFER YOU TO SOMEONE IN YOUR AREA IF THEY DON'T ALREADY SERVE IT. WATCH OUT FOR SOME CROOKS THAT MAY TAKE YOUR MONEY AND NOT DO A THING FOR YOU AS WELL.
