Why doesn't the Government allow the police to ask people if they are citizens?

Answer:
In Columbia TN, there was a kid who took a gun to school. He was an illegal immigrant. They took him back to his trailor park and called INS.there were 20 other illegal immigrants in a group, just hanging out.

That trailor park is RIGHT across the street from a police station! So BIG FAT NO that the government wants to help this situation. We are SCREWED unless we do something about it ourselves.

We are losing our land, we are losing English as our primary language. They are segregating America because we can't communicate with them and NOONE will do anything about it. We have become the minority in our own country! This is the WORST administration in the history of America.I FIRMLY agree with Carter!
It's harassment without cause (hint: being a minority ISN'T cause). I don't know about you, but I wouldn't feel like a citizen of a free nation if the police stopped me every time I went out in public to ask me my business. In this country, we're innocent until proven guilty. Let's keep it that way.
because the government doesn't work for the people any more it is for corp america and if they have illegals that will work for half of the money then they will have more money to support the politicians
When it suits the Government's purpose, the Government invades the privacy of U.S. Citizens at will. That means that the Government took away the rights of U.S. Citizens after 9/11/01 and chose to ignore the illegal aliens despite the fact that it would have been a perfect opportunity to question all people about their legal status. The police are allowed to ask and even check identities of people. The problem is that the police must call ICE for non-citizens so it's more convenient to give them a pass than to arrest and prosecute them for all but the most serious of crimes. We citizens need to stop this practice and demand that the police check identification and seize the vehicles and arrest people who are not here legally. If the Feds won't come in and prosecute them, the police should hold them until the Feds get around to it. Fit them with electronic monitoring bracelets so we can get a handle on lawbreakers. We need our laws enforced. Get the police the 287G training. Wouldn't it be wonderful if we citizens could avoid prosecution by claiming not to be a citizen? Maybe we should try it sometime. Oh, but then we'd be arrested for lying to a police officer while illegals even lie on federal documents without any consequences whatsoever.
Its harassment and needs a lot of police officers on the streets
harassment
the Left is creating all sorts of cover for illegals...they are certain the illegals will vote as democrats if they get the chance...remember "motor voter" legislation, and the thousands of illegals who got voting cards?

the Right fears a Cuban-esque Revolution in Mexico if the illegals weren't absorbed here...that those people who have the backbone to fix the decades-long, deeply ingrained corruption of the Mexican government ( one party ruled for more than 70 years!! Santa Ana was president 11 different times!! ) are the same people with the gumption to run away to the US...

we don't need them here, not while our welfare rolls are bursting open with able-bodies go-for-nothings...get rid of the mexicans, and put the welfare cheats to work...

sounds like a plan to me.
There are only three cities in the entire nation that allow police to apprehend illegal aliens. Here in Nashville if you are illegal, you are apprehended by the police, and you are undocumented you can be detained and deported.
