How many think that amnesty discourages legal immigration?
I am talking about those who have waited in line to come here legally, and yes this does include some hispanics (they are not all criminals and freeloaders). But what about those who respected the laws of this country ... paid their fees/expenses, filled out their forms, submitted themselves and their lives to be put under a microscope in order to immigrate here legally?
Do you think that giving amnesty to those who pay "coyote's" and engage in other crimes such as identity theft etc, encourages only further illegal activities and more illegal immigration?
Do you think that American immigration is becoming a joke? Do we need more laws, or do we just need to more rigorously enforce the ones we have?
Any suggestions?
Answer:
Yes it's a joke and a not at all funny one, these people who can't for what ever reason get it in there heads that laws are made to be obeyed and not ignored are beyond talking to, just round them up and send them back whence they came until they can do it the right way, then WELCOME......
More and more of us will come.YAY AMNESTY!
Ever since America tightened Immigration Laws, its been really tough on people who wants to migrate the US legally. Because they want to spend extra dollars to illegal immigrants, legal immigrants has to pay 10 times more than 5 years ago.
I agree. Amnesty will only encourage more illegal immigration and less legal immigration.
I think this bill is a joke because, most of these people will not comeforth, pay the fines, learn English, return back to their homeland, and then return? I don't think its even remotely workable.
Most illegal immigrants, don't trust their own govt. let alone ours, what guarantees do they have they will be allowed back in? This is what i am hearing from the Spanish News Media ...
We need to enforce our laws. No need for new ones.
You are right - the legal immigrants are the ones who really ought to be po'd. I think we need to have a "thank a legal immigrant" day - and show them our appreciation of their respect and patience to follow our laws.
The laws are already on the books. IF the government doesn't want to enforce the borders then I think it's people should.
I think it does discourage legal immigrants from coming here. They go through a lot to come here. This immigration reform bill is totally unfair to all those countries that have people right now that are waiting to come to America.
It discourages legal immigration for low income/low skill peple who will not follow the law anyway (immigration law). Professionals will immigrate legally-- people in those professions can't hide as easily as laborers and trades people etc.
