I'd have to agree with you on this issue in the case of legal immigrants, but all the illegals are sucking off of the gov't.'s butt for so long, and they often spend ONE dollar for every THREE dollars they earn in GOVERNMENT BENEFITS. Once we get rid of all the illegals, we can start to whip this country into shape.
They probably are going to be the ones saving the SS program. All those young workers contributing can do nothing but help. They do NOT come here to get benefits, they come to work.
Trashy neighborhoods? The immigrants try to live in the places they can afford, and won't usually be the nicest neighborhoods. It is all about money.
Are you kidding? Go checked out all those Unit Health Clinics boomimg in Hispanic communities - non-English patients who are either pregnant or fishing for free medicals being attended by Hispanic-accented staff members - all being paid for by American tax dollars!
Anyone ever checked out motor vehicles and trucks owned by Hispanics and notice how filthy and messy they are - inside out?

Interesting thought, you might consider looking into how "bad" the social security problems are. The estimates of trouble are based on 50 year economic projections with seriously conservative estimates of growth as well as fairly high estimates in other regards (survival rates, etc.) This got a lot of press because Wall Street would certainly love to have Social Security money thrown into market, but if you really think about it the idea is crazy. Princeton economic Paul Krugman has written some great stuff about the specifics, but it's not even that complicated. The worst case scenario (the one that's argued by proponents of SS reform) is that in about 50 years our taxes will only cover 80% of estimated benefits. Economic projections 50 years into the future aren't worth very much to me, and there's a difference between "bankrupt" and "mildly underfunded." Have look- I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.
No, the answer to saving our Social Security system is to get rid of it before it bankrupts the country.
They where saying on the News, that the every illegal immigrant that gets citizenship will cost the taxpayers $21,000, per person on average. Half of my family is Mexican and most that want to become citizens, have at least 2 children. In California it costs about $9,000-$10,000 per child each year to go to school. On top of that is the WIC and other welfare that is now aimed at the low income worker, and not necessarily the out of work poor. So, there could be more social security income, but , It would cost us more overall.
That means the Social Security system, which already faces bankruptcy by 2040, would be obligated to pay out tens of millions of dollars more to applicants.Wage earners(illegals) get back proportionately more benefits compared to what they pay into the system.
How can they help Social Security when they don't even have Social Security Cards. They don't have their own numbers they usually steal numbers. They don't pay income taxes because they are'nt documented...they are illegal from every aspect..
No, this won't help the flawed SS system. We need to get rid of it completely and encourage people to find another way to invest for retirement. Perhaps some government subsidized bonds or mutual funds...
Sure, they might help out with SS, but they suck Medicare dry and bring wages for physical labor legals down and bring the quality of our schools down with no child left behind and esl.

No. Many of them will try and get theirselves or their children on government disability payments. Others will opt for welfare. Most, because of limited ability, will make wages that qualify them for all kinds of government hand outs.
What's going to happen is the shrinking pot will get smaller. If this bill passes, don't plan on retiring at all.

Its one of the things I write when I'm weighing the good and bad of immigration. Our population is static or decreasing, depending on what data we look at if it wasn't for immigration.
As for making the city look trashy, most immigrants seem to contribute to this. I think they don't understand that you could call the sanitation department to pick up even large items, rather than dump it on an abandon lot or on a street corner. It's an adjustment for people who live in mud houses to not to through garbage outside.
This is pure bunk. The economic reality is that given the income levels involved, the vast majority of the illegals will take much more out of the system than they put in in taxes, and when they retire will be an immense cost above what they contributed to the system.
No, it wont help. Wanna know why? Because it will cost over 2.5 TRILLION...Yes, that is with a "T" and where you do think they will get that money to cover it? They will get it from the SS account like they do every time they need to supplement something.

If they are truely working for the minimul wages they claim to be.they wouldn't be putting squat in. Social Security IS NOT JUST FOR RETIRED PEOPLE! It also covers disabled people for a variety of reasons and their children. Our SS is in trouble because everytime the government wants to pick pockets for something they tap into those reserves claiming they will pay it back and never do. They've "borrowed" a few TRILLION dollars out of it. Everytime they cry about the boomers comming to that time it is not because the money wasn't already in there. They aren't "straining" crap..the government "borrowed" it and kind of wants to "forget" about that part and then cry how it's going bankrupt. They cut the funds for the elderly every chance they get and more and more Dr's aren't accepting medicare anymore so that means pay out of pocket and wait for reimbursement and anyone who's ever delt with medicare knows full well they are slow as crap. So many, like myself tried to be sure you owned your home. Problem is..that's the very first thing they want to rip right out from under you. Try and sell it and gee...my house has already dropped 100 thousand dollars in 2 years because of the influx of illegals and my taxes are going through the roof because of the illegals and all the darn schools they need for their anchor babies and other "special" needs. Baby boomers are starting to retire very soon and that "generation" lasts for awhile. I'm near the end of it. Just in time to break the bank and find out this whole deal is a back breaker all the way around. This isn't the answer...it's the final straw to bust it.
There's alot of us "later boomers" who were stuck in the middle raising kids and caring for parents and less wages and outsourcing and downsizing and don't have the funds necessary and no way to play "catch-up" at this late date and those of us who still need to work don't need 20 million more "cheap laborers" to compete with when you're being thrown back into job searching again or learning another darn language to get hired because too many newbies won't learn English. There's no endless supply of Wal-Mart greeter jobs to go around. Many are figuring there's no way to retire with prices going up and figure they'll need to work till they drop dead. So help? Heck no.
