What do you think the Aussies think of English Immigrants?
But what do they think of the British people going out there to take work, are they racist against us or would they welcome us with open arms.

Well the answers you've gotten so far are pretty narrow minded.
I was born in Australia but by 2 English parents living there. By birth rights im an Auzzie but im a British citizen.
My mum n dad never had any problem at all in Auz but they are very different to what you'd call a "typical Britt". As long as your not set in your ways and patriotic to the country you want to leave then i reckon the Auzzies will welcome you, after a while. You just need to prove yourself by working hard and partying harder.

You've gotta think, they Aussies are the original English immigrants anyway as that's where all our criminals were shipped to, so in essence, it would be like family visiting!!
Honestly- the Aussies are very parroquial. It's full of nouveau Irish- who've been brainwashed that British are conquistadors. The convicts were by and large, I'd imagine Irish. So yes- from the lower elements of society you wil get some Pommy-bashing (verbal abuse)- but they're just stupid Aussie yobbos- they're ha'pence a baker's.
I have some friends in Australia- in Melbourne- one was originally from London. Anyway he thinks Melbourne is fantastic- an having visited him- I found no trouble- in fact I met tons of expats- no-one ever said anything to me.
In fact in conversations I kind of felt more welcome to be there than the Orientals and Lebanese they have there.
Lot of Greeks and Italians and Europeans in Melbourne- and the food is great. Nice houses. Pretty sophisticated city- there's a Jamie Oliver Fifteen there and a casino (full of Russian hookers).
Another friend working as an engineer in Perth complained a bit about the idiot yobbos at his mine site- but he said that died off after a while. It was just stupid name-calling and English jokes.
Summarily- in my experience- no probs.
they are British descent usually and it is a large continent so i guess they would not be so bothered ...the Aussies love to have a go at us the same as the Scots do but they love us really (i think) well who gives a tos s lol

Why should they think bad about us? It's ok for them to send 1000's of people over here, but not good for us to go there.

Polish people dont take the English mans work , they work bloody hard at minimum wage , that is why they are all working , the english dont want mimimym wage , as the dole sounds far better, the polish people work 60 - 70 hrs a week to make a living, the english will never do that because of the laziness, and no Im not POLISH, as for the Australians , they also work hard and yes you will have to go on your knees and scrub for them also , but I have to admit they do love the English

When I was in Oz, I was quite shocked by the antipathy the Aussies have for the Brits. We are not talking about cricket or rugby. They really don't like Brits for being Brits! But you can always find Brit enclaves and life will not be so bad. In the long term, the only way to get accepted is to adopt their attitude and resent other Brits.
Don't kid yourself. They resent Brits.
Nah...we just go to Costa del Sol in Southern Spain, buy businesses (usually pubs/eateries), charge south East British for their alcohol/food - but here's the rub...wage their workers the Spanish rate...sorted (or not).

I'm pretty good friends with quite a few.. I call them convicts (as in British rejects because they're bad although since most of them work in government they all have perfect records) or poms and I generally find them fairly easy going.. not as lassiz-faire as the Australian-born but there you go.
We tease them a fair bit but that's mainly because we can get away with it.. they don't really mind.
BTW my parents are British.. Malaysian born but British nationals.

I don't think they like us that much, we are bringing up their house prices and taking their jobs. But they'll only let you in if you can contribute something - so it shouldn't be as bad as the immigration here.

not much to me i feel they are aliens in the 2 years ive been in australia ive hardly seen any 4th-6th gen australian very few australia is more like a country sized version of the UN dominated by southern europeans and asian ethnic groups
brits are the grey man no one tends to notice but the auzzie
