I think they want their wives to stay home, kinda like how women use to be back in the 50's. I think theres also more opportunity for the men who are illegal, than the women.
Another thing too is that these women have babies, when you get paid only 5 an hour, paying for childcare, you're gonna spend your whole paycheck. So maybe its just better to stay home.
Well, nothing for America but they're contributing a lot to mexico by lying on their backs. Makes it easier to send money home when Americans are paying for their 10 kids per family.
In Texas they work as maids and nannies a lot.
Interesting tidbit: When I was a single mom and hiring help for the home, I always hired college girls because they wanted to work after school and into the early evening, which is what I needed (pick the kid up from school, bring him home, start dinner whatever for when I got home betwen 6 and 6 30).
THe service I used to find me help in the home told me that they had trouble placing Mexican nannies with families with my kind of afterschool requirements, because the mexican women all said they had to be home when their man got there, and had to have dinner ready.so they wanted to leave at 4pm. Hence they were better matched as maids and nannies for younger kids.
