French passport?
thx 4 an answer
Answer:
Honestly, why would you? Germany is part of the EU as is France so there is really no difference. But worth looking into I am sure. A lot of countries don't require you to renounce another citizenship or if they do the country that you had the original one from doesn't recognize the renunciation.
You are not saying who is half of what, you? What citizenships do your parents hold? It can all be very complicated.
For example....... America upon renouncing your previous one is required in most cases. But England doesn't recognize this so once a citizen always a citizen. My mother did this and she just went home to england and applied for a new British one.
I started out with an American passport but later gained a british one. Technically america could take issue but they know how it goes. For years I was told that I could not claim citizenship from my mother, only a father. Through research I found out this had changed. If you are an american and born overseas you get a birth certificate from the US and that country, I was born in England. I found out that in all the years prior I could have taken my british birth certifact into a passport agency there and just appiled for one.
My point is whatever the case do a lot of research. Laws change and often there is a way that people or officials not know about.
why don't you ask that there
