Well what pisses me off about Mexican flags is when they wave their flag at pro illegal immigration rallies. Now you're probably wondering what is wrong with that. Nothing, but when you burn the American flag and put the Mexican flag above it, then it gets disrespectful. Also I've seen pictures of Mexicans placing the American flag upside down under an Mexican flag in America.
Flags are good, the represent culture, but when you use the flag to disrespect a country, It pisses people off.
I don't mind seeing Mexican flags outside of people's homes or on other private property or any other flag for that matter.
However, I believe that if you want to wave a foreign flag in America, on public property it should be UNDER the American flag and vice versa for other countries.
It's just a matter of respect.

The difference is that you don't see illegal aliens from Italy waving their flag.

I am a second generation Irishman and third generation German. Actually I am 100% American.
My Irish father would spin in his grave if he saw me with an Irish flag.
My German grandfather would return from beyond if I dared to waved the flag of his former country; one he fought against.
My family came to the USA to be American citizens and that is what we are.

The difference it that some wave foreign flags to remember where they came from and honor that, from what I see with Mexican flags they want replace the American flag with the Mexican flag. When you are marching for rights you do not wave the flags of the country that you are fleeing because you had to leave because you could not feed your family.
Wonderful point.Everyday when I go out I pass a house down my street and they always have either the French or Swedish flag proudly flying on their front yard.It doesn't bother me in the least, in fact, I find it interesting, that they are so proud in their heritage that they take the time to display there flag of heritage.
The way I see things is that we're all humans. Who cares about mexican, italian, russian? None of that matters here anyways. If anything American flags should be waved, but I do see your point. To best answer your question, there's alot of anymosity towards Mexicans for the growing number of illegal immigrants in America today. Remember, the Irish and Italians suffered alot of the same prejiduce many years ago, much, much worse!
Because italians are not taking over the US. Its absurd that we have everything in spanish now, wether its a bathroom sign at walmart or on a candy bar its pathetic how the US is catering to the spanish population over its own americans. How would you feel if some people from peru or Bolivia entered your country illegally, and put a flag in front of their house, celebrating all the time? Wouldnt you feel like if was your country and not theirs? Wouldn't you feel like you are being crowded? I think that's what's happening right now!

I think this has been a problem for many years.It's just Mexicans are the "New" minority to face this problem.Mexicans have been in the U S since it's founding.Why people are getting so worked up now I can't fathom.This many illegals have been here for over 20 years but yet all of a sudden we have no room.Everyone gripes about the immigration laws yet in the same breath say our laws are fine we just need to follow them.Does anyone realize how stupid that is for an argument?Obviously the rules AREN'T just fine or we wouldn't be talking about it.Changes need to be made to suit the times and the circumstances.20 years ago there weren't child abuse laws but the times had changed and new laws were needed to take care of a growing problem.The same goes for immigration.
I would say mainly because of all of the illegal Mexicans that are here. They are draining our economy and frankly a lot of TRUE Americana's are getting tired of it. I'm not really sure how it works in NJ, but I know here where I'm from it is like that. So that is why, at least around here anyway. And honestly, i don't really care what nationality you are, if you want to wave a flag of what ever country you are from, then you need to go back to that country and do so, but as long as you are here, and claim to be AMERICAN, then you need to wave an AMERICAN flag. I think waving any other here is disrespectful and down right rude. I would never go to live in another country and wave the American flag outside of my home. My parents raised me better then that. I would have it in the house, but i would never be that disrespectful.
I completely agree with kathleen's answer a thumb's up for her if you want to display your flag to show you are proud of your heritage fine but you should give props to the country you are in that is giving you the right to display another countries flag in their country.No matter what country you are from.
Because those Italians and Irish came here and assimilated the American culture, they didn't DEMAND that people here speak Italian or Gaelic, they learned english and busted their behinds to make a living, with no welfare, free health care or any other hand outs.
Those are people who came here LEGALLY, they contribute to our society and have been for generations. It's still annoying when they fly other flags, but it's nowhere near as bad as CRIMINALS coming here to do it.
If you're here to steal from us.. at least have the decency to keep a low profile.
