However, they were criticized because they were not a professionally trained standing army and often wasted ammunition.

The original minutemen were called that because they had to be ready in a minute. They were honorable volunteers. Today's "minutemen" have stolen the name to try to make themselves sound good. But they are trying to turn their prejudices and xenophobia into a war, which makes them very different from the original patriots. They encourage hatred and violence, and act like a parcel of fools.
