Can you believe the Mexicans protest over high tortilla prices?
Answer:
No I can not, seriously of ALL things to protest in Mexico they choose the price of friggin tortillas?!?!?
Why can't they protest like this over how corrupt their government/police/ army are??
Or how their money is not being spent on their poor OR education or how the drug cartels are running rampant..........but they choose the price of tortillas?!?
Well they could stop driving the low mileage Pick-ups in order to keep tortilla cheep for their own
What you don't think tortillas are too high? & have you seen the price of Pace Picante sauce?
Imagine if the main staples in America doubled in price overnight.
Milk for $5 a gallon a loaf of bread for $6.
It's not about those who illegally immigrate to the US. It's about those who don't.
How many people in the US will go hungry today? How many more would if shelters and missions only had 1/2 as much to give.
who cares about " HOG SLOP" I wouldnt even feed it to hogs if i had any.
Of course many of them are buying the corn here. However, the ethanol bit is silly. Less than 5% of corn is bought for ethanol and corn futures rose before Bush's state of the Union speech (hoping for more energy commitment) then went back to where they were. Personally, I think someone is manipulating the market, with NAFTA's inclusion of beans and corn imminent.
What's the next protest going to be? (How about their government? That would make more sense)
I feel sorry for the poor that it affects but it really looked silly on the news when they had their signs with a picture of a tortilla on it.
so whats the point... you would complain too if bread went for a higher place.. so what difference is that... as a matter of fact.. americans complain about anything that rises in price..
what I can't believe is you stickin your fat nose in to someone elses business. Can you believe what this war has cost us? Get real man, why do you care?
What is your problem??? Tortilla is the base food of Mexican Cuisine. It is the main source of food in Mexico. What does have to do with Illegals??? This is a protest by Mexicans in Mexico, not US. By the way US is importing corn to Mexico, Mexicans does not need US corn, there plenty of farming of corn in Mexico. Your irony is funny, ethanol is not now use for commuter fuel, and Mexico self-reliant on their own fuel. Remember Mexico export oil to US.
