If illegal immigrants are so poor, how do they manage to come up with $10,000 or more to cross the border?
Answer:
Their family that is already here in the US pays for it. Several families will live in one house, apartment, trailer or whatever and share the rent/utilities and save their money.
I know someone who was offered $9,000.00 just to get a fake birth certificate for a mother and her baby to get here from Mexico.
I dunnoa bout 10k but a friend of mine has a daughter who was dating an illegal and he said he paid 6k dollars to get brought in illegally.
it doesnt cost that much and they borrow from relatives in hope for better future

Good question, even if they only have to come up with 2-3,00, how, if life is so awful there and everyone sneaking over here is SOOOOOO poor.
What usually happens is that his whole family, relatives included chip in to pay for one person to cross the border. Then when that person is established and working, he sends back to Mexico weekly money orders to help his family. Then another of the family comes over. These illegal immigrants are willing to work really long hours and do the worst jobs. $2,000 is a more reasonable figure.
Or why don't they just pay for a tourist visa and buy a bus ticket? If they have an extra 10 grand it's more than I have!
Through a sort of modern indentured servitude, in some cases. You pay to be smuggled in, then 'work it off' doing ... whatever they make you do...
The same way asian people come over here , they get a loan from people . These people are usually bad people that make them work off their debt . The women are usually hookers and the men just do dirty work . And their kids get sold ! Your right why dont they stay there ? Im not trying to get in to mexico or trying to sneak into freaking hong kong !

As a 14Th generation American, 5Th generation Texan, with two (2) honorable US Army Discharges (I AM DAMNED WELL PROUD THAT I HAVE SERVED AND PAID FOR MY FREEDOMS and RIGHTS!!), and I have a retirement home in Mexico, as well as a home north of Houston,Texas, I can answer your question. In Mexico, THE WHOLE FAMILY PITCHES INTO THE "BUCKET" TO FINANCE SUCH A HUGH UNDERTAKING/ FINANCIAL EXPENSE!! It is very commonly done, and often these contributors are called PATRINO'S ( some thing along the lines of patrons, godfathers, sponsors etc,) I have been a patrino, perhaps over 100 times, mostly for weddings, quincineras, aniversories, etc. Hope this answers your question.

What makes you think they have it? Maybe the family is fronting the money, or a loan shark. I'm sure it's money that will be paid back to some individual.
They pay great sums, because then they can send even more money back home. If you live in a high illegal area, just look at the customer service windows on major paydays, usually Friday, it is full of illegals waiting in line to send money home by wire. You get a plenty that hop across illegally, then they can send money down to get more smuggled in.
And, heard from the mouth of an illegal, life wasn't bad down there, he was making decent enough money working in Mexico. Cost of living is cheap. Cram tons of people in one place like sardines and living expenses go down to close to nothing per person.
Let us also remember that there are plenty of unsafe places across the border, where even cabbies rob "rich Americans" on vacation. Their thinking? We can all afford to give over our money. And they aren't above prostituting their kids if necessary. I did see that on TV, actual footage, mostly boys, because they can't come up with an unwanted child.

If your whole family saved it wouldn't take long, also there is a lot more chance to make money in this country, by doing the jobs we now hate, which in turn replaces the money spent getting here. But the big earner comes by a lot living together, eg; if you have say seven people living in a house, you then split the bills seven ways, you dont play the silly keeping up with the jones game like a lot of people do in this country, no nice new 50" tv, not needed, or the new reeboks, because you may be one of the first people you know to have them, and anyway wouldn't you work abroad to give your family a better life? I know i would.
How do you know that in order to sneak in here, illegals need a lot of money.
An alien is already established here, and is earning tax free dollars to send home to the others. Then they cross over, swim, hide on the back of a truck, whatever, and all live in a little house together, which then brings down the value of the neighborhood. Then, we go to work, pay our taxes, so THEY can reap the benefits of food stamps and healthcare. I could save $10,000 too if I did not have to pay the needs of my family.
They borrow from relatives. Besides they are great workers, they appreciate more what they earn,(they don't really go shopping like crazy!) since they don't have much where they come from...So they do their savings.
