Why anti immigrants use as an argument?

I have yet to see anyone use that as an arguement. However I have seen plenty of folks, myself included, arguing that ALL immigrants should learn the native language of the nation they have immigrated to. That is if they have any desire to better their position and prosper. Otherwise they are sentencing themselves to low income jobs that offer no advancement.

Please stop consuming alcoholic beverages to excess. English is the language of money in this country. I am not only not forced to speak Spanish, but I don't do so at all and I get along quite well, thank you.
In Latin America, there are a lot of people who immigrated there. Someone said the majority of people in Argentina is Italian or german. There are a wide range of immigrants in Spain. Germans are prominent in my mind. There is a large Japanese population in Peru. Why do I only hear Spanish from all these countries, except for Brazil?

No one is forcing me to do anything and its not part of the argument however it is pretty darned annoying to have to press one for English or to be asked why I don`t speak Spanish.
As a matter of fact some do put a gun to our heads in the demands that are being made in essence.
It is not an argument,just a statment of facts.
When my son can't get an entry level job because he isn't bilingual, that is a gun to his head! Especially when he is a natural born citizen of the country, and the anus's on the crew are illegal invaders, demanding the pay he expects as a citizen!!
Care to try that again in a language spoken on this planet.

Might as well have put a gun to our heads. Only someone foolish would ask what Americans mean by this argument. They are forcing American citizens to learn their language (Spanish), by offering jobs to only bi-lingual, Spanish speakers. They are forcing our children to slow down their learning process, so that they can teach their Spanish only speaking children English in our schools. Might I add more... Because there is a whole lot more that Spanish speakers do that the American citizens are just plain sick of. Where have you been... unless you are just blind to the truth. By the way... We are "not" anti immigrants, we are anti-"illegals"! GET IT RIGHT!
I know of no one who is anti immigrant. I know of several people who are anti illegal immigration. To say anti immigrant is to be condescending and demeaning and drops the debate into demagoguery
It is better to communicate and get issues across when spoken in words one understands, English is that language whether you believe that or not. Bi-lingual is cool too.
I'm not opposed to communicating in a forieng languish to help others that don't speak english, but this is america & the primary languish is english. If you are or plan to become an american citizen, learn to speak english or go back where you came from. Why should we have to assimulate to foriengers, when we are in america?

More and more employers are requiring potential employees to be bi-lingual for one.I am bilingual, just not in spanish...another thing...how many times have I tried to talk to a client or someone involved in my days course of business that has lived here over 10 years and more and cant even speak a word of english? Yet it is MY responsibility to make sure communications go well? Heeelloooo...somethings amiss here...The thing that really gets me though is that I am having a hard time with someone because they are speaking to me in spanish, but only to find out later they speak perfect english! They expected me to have learned their language! What gall! fricken arrogant fruitcakes...when I am in Brazil, I speak portuguese...not english...the same should be the case who has lived in this country for 10 years..It's called respect..and it's dis-respect when they display that arrogance...
You DO know that according to Mexico's immigration laws, that anyone that "migrates" there HAS to learn Spanish! You DO know this, don't you? You DO get my point, don't you? EDIT: Mexico has a streamlined immigration law, only some of which I will list here. Check it out for yourself if you don't believe me. Their law states:You must speak the language, visitors DO NOT have a voice in politics, visitors MAY NOT fly the flag of their country of origin, YOU MUST BE IN THE COUNTRY LEGALLY OR FACE IMMEDIATE DEPORTATION AND IMPRISONMENT, those helping illegal immigration are JAILED.

Bad bad grammer. Wake up, have u been in a hole somewhere? You could go anywhere, for example fast food place, go to the counter and try to order and they can't speak English well. That's just one example, I could go on all night.
When you are refused a job or fired from a job for not learning or knowing spanish,isn't that a form of trying to force? they don't put a gun to our head,they just make it next to impossible to feed our families,they'd rather see us die than part with their cheap imported criminal labor.

Well if you live in a area that is predominately Spanish speaking then you will pick up some words here and there then eventually underatstand then speak it once in a while. Because everybody around you can not speak English. So you have to communicate. Works with any language.
