If there was an illegal immigrate that gave birth to a child in the us is the child a us citizen?
Answer:
The United States currently grants automatic U.S. citizenship to almost all children born in the United States, regardless of whether the parents are U.S. citizens, legal residents, temporary visitors, or illegal aliens in the United States. Some 380,000 children are born in the United States each year to illegal-alien mothers, according to U.S. Census data. The only exceptions to this automatic granting of citizenship are the children of foreign diplomats stationed in the United States, whose citizenship at birth is governed by international treaty.
yes
Yes, they call them anchor babies.
Yes, just by being in the United States, if you are born here, then you are automatically a citizen.
Yes-The child is a citizen of whatever country it is actually born in!
yes
yes and when the parent(s) are deported the child is screwed!
Yes!
no it would be the immigrant's countrie's ie immigrant to australia the child is an aussie if you register if not well then us
Yes, the child is a US citizen if he/she is born in the US regardless of the Immigration Status of the parents.
Unfortunately.
yes
yes, the child born there will be a citizen...........
Not really. A person becomes a citizen in his/her full right at the age of 21. The child can't, for example, sponsor the parents until he/she is 21. Also, the parents could still be deported
yes, not only are you a citizen if you are born in the USA itself, but if you are born on any land owned by the US including military bases, territories, etc.,
NO!! They are here ILLEGALLY! They broke the law and should be deported back to their country. Stand in line and wait for their turn before entering the country. Those damn ILLEGALS are ruining the health care and the social welfare of our country by taking advantage of our system. Those stupid CONGRESS that we voted for can't seem to know the different between LEGAL and ILLEGAL. Those damn ILLEGALS stole my job, my wages, my american dream, yes they need to be deported now. Take America back. Throw out Nancy Pelosi and tell CONGRESS to enforce the LAW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
yes
Yes. By exploiting the 14th Amendment (which really has NOTHING to do with those that have broken the law by illegally crossing our border, but that's for another time, thank you Anti-American Civil Liberties Union), children born to illegal alien parents are granted US citizenship, we call them anchor babies.
Sorry, I can't resist..... The 14th was written to guarantee that African slaves, freed under the 13th Amendment were provided the same citizenship as all other Americans (as it should be). Were I an African American, I'd be quite upset with what's going on. The 14th was written to provide a level playing field for the newly freed slaves, not to reward people who sneak into this country.
Currently, U.S. citizen. That's the purpose of all the baby cart pushers. WIC. Welfare, Medi-Cal (CA). Sad!
Yes
To repeat what free eagle 716 said:

Then what happens if a visitor gives birth to a child in the US, the child obtains the citizenship, but then returns with the parents to their country. Does the child lose the US citizenship?
Unfortunately yes,,,,,
Yes. Any child born in the US is granted automatic citizenship.
