Are we slowly becoming one with Mexico?

First the allowance of Mexican truck drivers on our highways, now this amnesty to allow mostly Mexican nationals to begin a "pathway to citizenship." What's the deal here? Whose "best interests" are our politicains looking out for?

Answer:
Yes and if you don't believe it come to Southern California and look at the stores and shops with Spanish names. Or listen to the radio, watch tv or go into the welfare office and listen to nothing but the spanish language all day. It is turning into a dump just like Mexico.
It is better than continuing to subsidize them. With citizenship comes paying taxes.
its called free trade, and the amnesty part thats your own fault for wanting cheap labor. people wouldnt come if there werent jobs,
I sure as hell hope not. The policians are bought and paid for by the National Council of La Raza (hate group imo)
i hope not.. (not trying to be racist)
Repeat after me. "Welcome to the united states of mexico". Come on in ~ and do as you please. (only we will need to learn to say it in spanish)
Their own..as usual.
Not where I live.
It's wrong to come over here and strangle the already dying economy of this country (not just hispanics but any illegal). As for mexico growing into the usa and being that there's nothing the government is doing about it i'm getting used to carne guisada, tequila, and my tex/mex language. lol
Just look at the North American Union website and you will see what the govt big-wigs are establishing w/o US knowledge.

They aren't representing US here when we don't even know or have any input to the matter.

Isn't this a breach of trust and against the US Constitution? Both parties plus 'special interests' are foiling our liberties and rights and country.
Well you have a point, but really would you work the jobs illegals work? Would you go to the fields and toil 15 hours a day for next to squat? If Americans would take those jobs, illegals would not be necessary, but reality is that they are. If you would come down to East Los Angeles you would feel as if you were in Mexico already. I don't see anything wrong with that what I do see wrong in are illegals who just come for a free ride like unemployed who just come to get on welfare. Deport those but leave the good ones. This country would not function correctly without hardworking illegals.
Okay I am die-hard against Mexican immigrants comign here and getting all these bonuses and freebies. But then I understand why they come here for a better place to live to make it better and some radical immigrants are spoiling the others. I mean look at like you are pauper and you see the rich country club. You want it, to have a better life bbut they look at you like the scum of the earth. I believe that they should be allowed a better chance but we have to draw a line bewteen giving them ample rights and needs to taking away from the American people. And mexicans need to understand that Ameerica has homeless people we need to take care of too.
United States seems to be in a “tug-of-war” between undesirable field labor that Americans refuse to consider and the influx of illegal immigrants across our borders. A viable consideration to bridge the efforts of our fellow comrades is to consider working visas or raise the wages of the “field worker”. Something has to give, but don’t take out on the alien that is trying to earn an honest living.
This is all because of political correctness.
Mexico was here first!
Lets hope it's the other way around!
Wait till all the illegal hispanics are given immunity and they vote Ca, NM, NV, and AZ back to Mexican territory... Oh wait "immunity"!? That just happened today
The Mexcicans should stay in Mexico and fight for a minimum wage (there is none in Mexico) and a decent government.

The tired, anti-American myth that there are "jobs Americans won't do" has to stop. It's perpetuated by people who hate America and want to paint us as spoiled lazy violent people.

If we got rid of the illegal immigrants, the farm jobs and cleaning jobs would have to pay a decent wage. And then--SURPRISE!--you'd see Americans lining up around the block.

Mexicans can only do these jobs at slave wages because they live in deplorable conditions, 10 or 20 to a small apartment. It's bad for the Mexican, who should be home fighting for a better Mexico. It's bad for Americans, who have their wages driven down by workers who offer to do the same work for a tenth of the price, because underbidding is their only tool. It's ONLY good for rich fatcats who get their mansions cleaned for next to nothing, and their agricorp crops picked for pennies.
The sad part is they are illegal and they are telling us its ok to break the law. The truth is they take more away than they truly give, only a small percent do jobs we would not do. And now we are told how lucky we are to have 11 million more people in our country and most don't give back just take. Today the mayor of LA walked in a parade of illegal immigrants to protest how the illegals were treated by police. Our own police department can't even get backing from its own boss the mayor of LA for standing up to people who break the law.

We are a country upside down proving its ok to break the law. We glorify a car chase and then chastise the police for using excessive force to try and subdue a criminal that just ran 20 lights, ran into other people and endangered lives all around him. And the police are in the wrong.

Listen to the Rolling Stones, "Sympathy for the Devil" we are living it now.
Although this is a touchy and very complicated subject I think the answer is the general American population. Were not becoming one with Mexico. The threat of change to the American culture is probably the most disturbing for many people. But since money is what makes the world go round, the cheaper the labor.. the cheaper the product. Look around at all of the imported products in any home. With housing costs at their peak, gas rising, expensive employee insurance costs to employers... the country needs some kind of balance. They really do jobs that no one else will do and for less money. I'm not referring to hotels and cooks (although it is hard work) I mean the really hard labor. Picture your local high school kids or your children if you have any. Hows a career picking fruit or digging ditches sound? The economy needs them. If it didn't.. you can bet that wall would have been built long ago and the military would really be protecting the borders. In my very personal opinion we have the cheap labor.. now lets get the situation under control. (Great question by the way. A complex subject)
I'm going to have to agree with Salvatru...the unfortunate truth. They do have the jobs that we would not work. It's sad the way they are treated in some ways...But what can you do...that's the choice they make. That is why the government..closes their eyes...and makes sure they stay shut...It's unfortunate that they can't get some of this under control, but they are obviously making something out of it. SOmething we probably don't know...IF it was cleaner, more precise the method they use to execute these ideas i think we would all be happier. WE have so many problems already, our unemployment, homelessness, debt, hunger, is already reaching places we never thought were possible. Sad sad world
This was Mexico Remember? Is it also the same to say that we are becoming one with Africa? Or Israel? Or Puerto Rico? Because there are so many of "them" here? How about the fact that the majority of hispanics in the US are not even Mexican, they are from El Salvador, Guatemala, South America, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Honduras and the rest of central america. The only state you really see alot of "illegal" Mexicans is California. And I think it's an unfair term to call them illegal just because they didn't come over with a passport. Maybe if Mexicans had the same immigration rights as Europeans, Asians, and most every other country, they wouldn't feel the need to go that route. Plus keep in mind that besides the fact that they take the jobs no one else will how about the fact that they contribute to this economy just as much without the benefits. They pay rent, gas, groceries, buy cars use public transporation, and pay sales tax just like everyone else. The difference is that they have no right to welfare, unemployment, 401K, medical insurance or peace of mind. These people are not criminals they are victims of a system that is designed to marginalize and humiliate them. This country is a melting pot of races with a foundation based on immigrants from all over the world whether they came here by their own free will or brought here as slaves or used as workers for a railroad only to be sent back. Let's not forget that Mexicans were here first but are not recognized as such thanks to the famous Mexican war that was nothing more but a way to gain land illegally. I'm sure Native Americans would agree that the current immigration situation is a disgrace to what this country is all about. And since they were here first don't you think they should have the last word.
Why you ask? Scare or something? Mexicans:booooh! Grow up, dude.
