Break the law get rewarded? Follow the law, get punished? (No conservative hacks please.)?

I am truly conflicted about the immigration debate. I don't care who lives in the United States, in fact, the more the merrier, but I am very, very concerned about fairness and following the law. So why is it OK to break the law to come to the U.S.? And why should people who are already in the country illegally get amnesty while there are hundreds of thousands of people trying to get in legally who would be disadvantaged? In effect, those who broke the law are rewarded for their behavior while those who follow the law get punished.

Please, only people who favor liberal immigration policies. No conservative, right-wing knee jerks.

Answer:
Well, when you get right down to it.

Oh wait.. No conservative hacks?
Sorry

If anybody IS interested in my opinion .. I answered an immigration question a while back...scroll down to find me.

Again... my apologies Journman
compare 12 million to the 100,000 thousand out of the country...they are here already so let them stay
You've about summed it up, though there's not much point in asking for opinions only from those who agree with you, really.

Obviously, we need to step up enforcement to prevent, deter, and reverse illegal immgration. Just as obviously, we need more legal immigration. A fair compromise, to my mind, would be to raise the limmits on legal immigration as illegals are successfully deported or discouraged. So, if you manage to kick out, say 2 million illegals, and another 4 million leave on thier own for lack of work or services, then you could let in an additional 6 million who have been 'standing in line' the whole time.
Maybe people who follow the law should start protesting and complaining and then start breaking the law and asking for amnesty. That is the best way to get what you want. Protest.
I'm confused. It's the Conservatives that don't want amnesty and the socialist liberals that wanted it.

Are you trying to get liberals to change your mind about how amnesty is wrong?
Deport illegal aliens!

VIVA LA MIGRA!

-----------------------

"Antis suck" still thinks that protesting is a good idea. What an idiot. Protesting with your Mexican flags is the reason amnesty failed, moron. So please please keep protesting.
What is complicated about making an illegal, legal. If the US govt called all illegals to report in, for the purpose of becoming legal without complications. I would say a huge majority of those illegals would report in. One good thing about it the hard core criminals would not report but at least we can start finding out who they are.
That's just like a Liberal! Closed-minded to the bone!!
Everyone should be inspected one way or another!Everything is abused! What are the top rated radio stations playing music? Do they sing in english?
Well you better wake up and start caring about who is in America. What about all the criminal immigrants who come in along with the ones who just want to work? What about the muslim extremests who come to commit terrorism? The more the merrier? All the while the taxpayers are paying for all the government services provided to illegal aliens. My city, Los Angeles, has parts that look like Mexico, with signs in Spanish and graffiti everywhere. And let's not forget the street gangs. 95% of homicide warrants here are for illegal aliens. Get a clue!
I have no problem with immigration to this country. It enriches us and makes the nation a stronger and better place to live.

Having said that, a sovereign nation has the right and duty to control the influx of immigrants into it borders for economic, security, and health reasons. Illegal immigrants shatter this balance.

They should be deported.

I say this as someone who is very liberal on many issues, but when it comes to illegal immigration, I am with the people who want to shut the border and deport as many of them as we can get our hands on.
