I went in a large chain supermarket food store in Austin, Texas last Thanksgiving while on vacation. A lady came over the intercom in Spanish, and said something. NO ENGLISH WHATSOEVER. This was the middle of the day, the supermarket was very crowded. At least as a courtesy for English speaking people (this is America after all), they could have had an English version of whatever the hel* she was saying.

this is America and English is the language of the people. there may not be an official bill declaring English as the official language but everyone knows it is. those that refuse to use English in America should not be here. this is not their country because they refuse to participate in something that partly defines America. we don't owe spanish speaking people anything. if they want to communicate in spansh there is a lovely country to the south of Texas and new mexico that is just the place for them.

Your question is confusing to me. I am pro immigration but have NEVER considered this nonsense over "language" remotely important.
