Jose and Carlos are panhandling at the freeway off ramp.
Jose drives a Mercedes, lives in a mortgage free house and has a
lot of money to spend.
Carlos only brings in 2 to 3 dollars a day.
Carlos asks Jose how he can bring home a suitcase full of $10
bills every day.
Jose says, "Look at your sign." It reads: "I have no work, a wife & 6
kids to support"
Carlos looks at Jose's sign.
It reads: "I only need another $10.00 to move back to Mexico

Messed up in a way and yet strangely compelling. I think it is more a social commentary on the way things are going now with immigration and even the homeless issue. There are many homeless people who actually need help and there are those who are not really homeless and make a lot of money panhandling. As for the immigration aspect, I think it's just indicative of what some people are feeling about illegal immigration or Hispanics (some people are equating Hispanic with being illegal even if the person is here legally) in general. I am not condoning the way that the homeless issues or the way that illegal immigration is being portrayed, I am merely saying that it is an interesting social commentary about the times that we are living in.

It is amusing and would definitely get the greater response! I do hate pan handling for any reason. The lack of any self esteem and usually the druggies that walk right up to you and ask for spare change! I don't have any, I pay taxes.
