I filed my I-130 form based on a 1st prefence family petition on the 04/30/07 and I still have not heard from them. The form is being filed in the Texas office, does anybody know why it is taking so long and long I should expect to wait for?

For God's sake, it's only been a month. It's going to take at least 3 months before you get a letter from CIS along with your case number. After that it's off to the NVC and from there to the embassy or consulate you indicated. Plan on the entire process taking a year from start to finish. Be patient. You've got to wait just like everybody else.
