When do you think there will be a future immigration reform?

well not really a 'reform' but an effort.. i just feel sorry for (NOT the criminals) that group of hardworking people coming here to support their families . i know how hard live is for them and there is so many other critical and inconciderate others out there...life is a biiitchh

Answer:
There should be NO future immigration reform bills until our borders are secure and the 12-20 illegals here get deported. Just because they were able to sneak in to this country doesn't mean they get put at head of the immigration line.
We don't need reform. We need the illegal aliens to go through the legal process to become Americans.
If you're asking when Congress will try to sneak a crappy immigration bill through again, I'd say March 1, 2009.

In response to Victory, I don't mind helping people out, even sometimes when they don't ask for help (I can see they need it, and I give it). But, I adamantly REFUSE to give anything to someone who has already taken something they shouldn't have and demands even more.

Yeah, yeah, I'm a racist -- I'm okay with that.
Keep dreaming until at least 2009 or 2010... Now that the American people have finally gotten their point across, the government won't be discussing another bill on immigration until then. We won the war!
When we start enforcing the laws we already have.
Pieces of it (the Dream Act, AG Jobs and the H1B boondoggle the tech companies want) may be brought up in this session, separately. Otherwise, the betting is that it won't come up until after the election. However, Bush is sneaky and a sneaky bill we don't need. That was a big problem with this one. We'll keep an eye out for that.
Senora , you have come to the wrong place to find caring people. The people on here are either in the "what about me" stage or blaming illegals for their problems.
Right now there is an excellent chance that there will not be a " reform" at all. Americans have become aware of existing law and that it's adequate to do the job, just needs enforcement.

A " Guest Worker Program" may be provided for someday if the prediction of labor shortages are realized and there may be some conflagrations as to the numbers allowed from different countries.

I think amnesty is pretty much a dead issue and represents political suicide for all those who propose it.
The next time the republicans get in and want to confuse the real issues that face them and the nation.

.
To the girl that posted earlier: I hate to see "Haters" on here. What difference does it make to you if there are illegal immigrants here? It's only doing you good. They will be here if theres a reform or not. So just shut the **** up and sit your *** down and don't worry about it.

If you could only see the way people are in Mexico, they suffer so much everyday. They are hardworkers in Mexico too. They have no future and work for very little. Though things cost about the same or more than they do here in the US. When they come over here it seems like heaven to them and don't want to go back. I don't think there will ever be a reform because of people like you. HATAZ
We will have real immigration reform when we no longer need it, like all of the legislation that comes out of Washington. Do you really think that these elitists are that productive? It's all about them: their money, their power and their fame. What they do while in office has nothing do with us (the people). These jerk offs spend most of their time raising money to get re-elected. Ever look at your representative's voting record? When they vote, is it to your liking? My reprsentative isn't even there half of the time. When he is, he votes on crap that has nothing to do with the needs and wants of the people who put his sorry butt in office.

Real immigration reform can be had right now with the laws in place. Our so-called representative just will not enforce them.
Reform isn't needed just enforce the existing laws.
I don't know if we will have a future immigration reform bill unless we replace many of the people in Congress. In every poll that has been done the American people want border control first before any amnesty or work program is talked about. Unfortunately many of the liberal Democrats and weak Republicans in Congress will not even enforce the laws that we now have in this country that deal with the problem of illegal immigrants. I am of Hispanic descent and I am furious that our government has not closed our borders. With 9/11 this is one of the first things that should have been done. I have no problem with people immigrating to this country - however it needs to be done LEGALLY! It is also ridiculous that we feel the need to have things written in English and Spanish. If there are people that want to be citizens of this country then they need to start by assimilating into this country and learn English. Hopefully the American people will show Congress how serious they are about real immigration reform during the next election!
I don't think there will be a complex reform bill for illegals until after the election when the politicians know that they can shove laws down our throats once again. Make sure that you have kept a record of all votes that were cast for the defeated bill for the next election. The only way politicians will understand the consequences of their actions is when it affects their own pocketbook after they're voted out.

There are bills pending that would end 'anchor babies' and would clarify that an anchor baby is not a legal or natural citizen because their parents are illegally in our country. If people are in the process of getting their citizenship, exceptions will be made to legalize their children once they receive their citizenship. This bill needs to be brought forth and passed. It will end the constant procession of pregnant women crossing our borders to get free medical care and in their mind - a new legal American baby. The baby is not a natural born citizen, but rather an illegal just like mom.

You have to follow what is going on in the Senate and Congress at all times if you want to prevent something like the immigration reform bill we just defeated from sneaking through.

As to the hardworking people, they have been given the privilege of on the job paid training. Now they need to take their experience back to their own country and try to make it a better place to live. Our government isn't enforcing the law by charging large fines for illegal entry. They are allowing them to leave peacefully.

And when they leave our country to rejoin their families whom they have been supporting while working in America, they can take all of their children with them. Like Bush says - no child should be left behind.

When the governments of Latin American nations begin to accept responsibility to reform their own economic and social infrastructures. Better living conditions for the people in these countries mean less illegal immigration to the U.S.
