So much for that March...?

As President Bush continued to stump for an immigration reform bill, about 30 anti-illegal immigration activists from across the nation gathered near the Washington Monument today, the first day of a three-day rally planned by two women who met online and forged a bond over their shared anger about the estimated 12 million people in the country illegally.

Many of those present at the "March For America" clutched U.S. flags and distributed literature decrying the effects of illegal immigration on schools, jobs and crime. Several wore buttons endorsing U.S. Rep. Tom Tancredo's (R-Colorado) bid for president. Tancredo, one of Congress's fiercest critics of unauthorized immigrants, was scheduled to speak but did not show

Some demonstrators said they feared that some form of the stalled Senate immigration bill -- the "amnesty bill," as Ann-Marie Jennelle, 39, called it -- would pass despite their efforts.

"We don't need a new immigration law," said Jennelle, of Hedgesville, W. Va. "They need to enforce the laws we have."

Organizers had said they expected a few hundred participants today. The demonstrations continue tomorrow and Saturday, when more than a dozen speakers are scheduled to address a crowd that organizers said they hope will reach 10,000 people.

Answer:
Interesting.Actually its sad.If so many people are against this bill, WHERE ARE THEY?
Only time will tell. Its a shame that Americans are afraid to protest in the streets. Afraid that if the authorities find out the protesters are Americans, they will be beaten and shot. Thats what our authorities like to do. Kent State ring a bell? And then if you go against the grain of conventional American thinking, you get snuffed out like Reno did in Waco.
Most people who believe in this have jobs and families to care for.
It's not over yet!
I think that Pancakes hit the nail on the head. Unfortunately those who are legal in this country cannot just abandon their jobs, families, etc. like the illegals. "The Emperor" obviously did not see all that coverage of the illegals marching. Didn't they have anything better to do???
It is a crying shame. Just a shame. Even if many show up, I will be the news won't cover it.
Don't give up...keep on emailing, writing, and calling all your government officials. Don't let up. BE HEARD

BOYCOTT GERALDO RIVERA
I can't believe that many people have nothing better to do.God bless America!
gloat on Saturday.. this is Thursday.. Americans have responsibilities during the week.. like work and family- we will see what happens on Sat. and if it's still 30 people.. then gloat till your little heart is content
LOL..10 000.... LOL
The lack of attendance will surely be blamed on illegal immigrants.. everything else is!
this isn't even friday yet. there will be more people going to that rally. people do have to work you know. i bet people will be leaving to go after work tomorrow, it's not over yet. sounds like people are worried about the Americans marching.lmao
it was a thursday, so maybe they were busy. i feel kinda bad for them.
