Latino immigrants, I have a few questions for you.?

OK, I really want to know because I am confused.

You talk about how much you love your families and how much you love your country, but so many of you leave family and country the minute you get a chance to come here. I hear from so many immigrants that they are only here to make some money so they can build a house and start a business and then go back to the country and family they love so much. But when they get the money they do not leave. They build a big mansion in Mexico and pay someone to open a store and still they don't leave. Their kids grow into teenagers crying for mom and dad and still they don't leave.
So, I ask you, actions speak louder than words. From your actions, you show us that what you really truly love is money. More than family and more than country because you give up both to get it. I've seen immigrants rent out closets as rooms and sell their kids toys for money. I've seen them steal from thier own brother for money. Sounds like pure greed.

Answer:
Actions and words don't jive do they? I've met some who have a family (wife and kids)in Mexico AND one here too.
ha ha ha!

Do you love your family? you leave them every day to go to work. You must not love them more than you love the money you earn. lol

geez

"I honestly do not see that much cold greed among Americans."

Think you mean United Statesians not Americans.

You see, there is no such a thing as ‘American’ nationality, America is not a nation America is a continent with many nations in it. The US never named itself the name of the United States is a designation it comes from the end of the Declaration of Independence, "WE, therefore, the Representatives of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, in GENERAL CONGRESS, Assembled...". The preamble to the U.S. Constitution reiterated the phrase: "We the People of the United States..." (The authors of these two documents probably used the phrase "united states" in place of a list of colonies/states because they remained uncertain at the time of drafting which colonies/states would sign off on the sentiments therein.) The geographic term "America" specifies the states' home on the American continent.
Many slaves brought over from the Ivory Coast sold their familes into slavery for their own freedom.
some points i agree w/ you.. others not so much.
Everyone is greedy to an extent, whether they're mexican, russian or canadian. It's human nature.

What gets me is illegal immigrants who "Demand" their rights, all the while flying mexican flags from their houses and collecting US social security...

Don't get me started on that one cuz i will jump on my soap box.
Well, I knew a guy who came to the US, got some money and came back to Mexico....some people stay there, some others don't....
Look first of all, I respect your opinion and I know who you are talking about, BUT...... you have to be clear between illegal immigrants and legal immigrant. You see I'm consider Latin or Hispanic but to me and my friends I'm an American. AND I ask you are you including me in your analysis. Like me there are millions, all Americans.
I've met some illegal aliens the one thing I noticed that of the many who had wives and kids at home also have a GF here.Like they have to lives one here-one there. Many fore go child support payments, leave their families behind from finding something more desirable here. I think it does come to one thing greed. In this whole debate the central issue evolves around and for the need of money.
Your talking about the ILLEGALS babe. Not all Latinos are like that. Stop generalizing.
How dare you ask such a racist question?

You must be a racist just like all non-Hispanics.
You said it well, I couldn't agree more.
ur totally wrong.. mainly, the ones that come here to get money and go back are seasonal workers.. which many times, if not all, get work permits just to be able to work for those few months. the ones that cross and risk their lives are usually the ones who stay for good.. for the ones that stay for good, i can speak for.. they do love their families and are proud ppl.. crossing the border isnt no easy task.. many ppl dont really know what they go through while crossing. and believe me, its more than just tough. its a life risking task and they take it for their families, to better their lifes. once theyre here and wen they are making enough money they usually send SOME money back to their families to their country. they dont send millions or thousands because most likely illegals only make enough to make ends meet. so just think about how much money they send.. maybe like 100 or less.. and they dont send every month. i dont know where u get that ppl usually make money and go back to their countries and build mansions..lol.. thats most likely not to happen.. if they go back its because they got deported or they are having problems due to their illegal status. but i just thought i let u know!!!!
There was a young Spanish man who I worked with last year who said during our talk on illegals was that they should get the free education ( in MA by the way) because Americans don't care about education all they want to do is party in college. The 2nd thing was that what happened back in the 1920 a lot of your people came over to America just like Spanish people are today.

We can see the problem with both his answers but he couldn't. After asking more people who are from South America and from the Mediterranean areas it was a little surprising to find out that people of the Mediterranean and the older generations of South Americans where pissed about the amnesty but the younger generation of South America seem to think it's the greatest thing to happen since slice bread. Our schools, press and federal government is causing this rip in America.

Too imply that a group of people have to follow the Laws of the Land and another group of people don't especially those not from this land will cause more problems down the road.
so she forgot to say "illegal"...stop crying...you knew what she meant and she was correct on most points!
Im proudly mexican yet I hate the fact of immigrants doing that. I dont live in United States or anything like it, but I do see in the news how ppl is being chased because there selling things in the streets (same they do ere in Mex), so I quite find it hilarious...they go but they want to do wot they do ere n I actually feel like thats wrong. No wonder 'united staters' n many other ppl in other countries think of mexicans as ignorants, with sombrero n maracas n like a plague, Im not being racist towards my own ppl, Im just saying it is annoying when ppl think of 'latinos' as a dirty plague, cos I'm one! And Im not a plague... I hate it. Yes, I kno most of them are poor, but to be honest, they might as well keep their life in Mexico than being chased for doing the same... wot a shame.
Most Latino/Mexican Immigrants came here to stay and enrich our diversity, economy, and culture.
Most Immigrants can be eligible for dual citizenship and own businesses in both countries.
If you want to have better answers from Latino Immigrants, you need to learn and dominate the Spanish language. For the mean time seems like you are full of prejudice and stereotypes, so maybe you need a vacations in Mexico, Costa Rica or Brazil to understand better the Latino culture
Ahem. You might want to check your American history. And you might want to check the definition of 'immigrant'. Immigrants are the ones who come here and stay here -- for the same reason that your grandparents or great-grandparents came here. People who are here on a temporary work permit are not immigrants. It would be interesting to know how statistically sound your survey has been, how large a contact base you are working with, and how much is simply innuendo and rumors.
Your message sounds like pure, irrational racism.
I posit most immigrants (documented and undocumented) come here to find work and feed their families. American jobs typically pay better than Mexican jobs. That's a no brainer.

I'm sure their are greedy people in this group, just like every group. Like we Americans aren't driving to our megachurches in our SUV's, wearing our Crocs and Birkenstocks and listening to our iPods? C'mon.

It's worth noting that the only group that undocumented immigrants compete with in the U.S. for jobs are high school dropouts. You don't see Javier or Maria becoming corporate CEO's.

There are homeless people who regularly exploit peoples' generosity. Certainly not most (as most homeless people are women and children), but the point stands.

I'm curious, as we AGAIN talk about immigration, why does no one raise the point of illegal Canadian immigrants, or from Africa, or Southeast Asia?

America has always had a fatally ambivalent attitude towards immigrants. "Yeah, come do our dirty work, come fight in our wars, but don't think for a minute you'll be welcomed or accepted in this society," seems to be our attitude. Keep in mind the Chinese Exclusion Act kept Chinese people out of this country for 25 plus years, and the Bracero program of the 1940s and 1950s really established a pattern of exploitable, cyclic labor. Let's face it: the USA is addicted to cheap labor. It's our meth, our national crack. The city of Rome during its zenith as an imperial city consisted of 1 free person for every 3 slaves.

It would be nice if we as a country followed the Israeli or Swedish or even Canadian model of immigration: come, work, stay, be a part of who we are, make our country stronger and richer and better.

A daydream to be sure, but a worthwhile one.
Your topic question has raised many issues and concerns amongst the the people who visit this site but the one thing you need to understand is that it's not only Latino Immigrants that take advantage of the system that is in place to help the underprivileged. It's people from all races and creeds that abuse what was once thought of as a helping hand. The way you proposed this question not only makes you look naive, but more importantly, prejudice. Look around you and you will see that no one Race, Ethnicity or Community is pure of heart and mind. If you want to look at life in this light you can also say that Jewish people are Greedy, that African-Americans are lazy, and that all Caucasians are dumb country bumpkins but that would just add to this ignorance. Not everyone fits into the stereotype. Not all Hispanics are in this country for greed. Myself, though not born here, I decided that the best thing for me to do for this country, this country that has giving me education, opportunity and health would be to volunteer to serve in the Navy. Can you tell me you have done that? You were born here, am I correct? Have you decided to volunteer your service since you are so innocent and far from greed?
well that's your dision if you want to stay or re tun to your country and that you left your family behind to earn some money while your family is going hungry and what you do is start a whole new family and forget that the one left behind ever excised and just for a few dollars because immigrants cant get a job in an office or with the government so its on you.
no my family is still very close and we make alot of money we just try and find a way to be with them like mostly every week we call them and like when i have vactions like winter or summer we go visit them so no we try and stay the close that we can.
Bravo for speaking your mind. I hate the fact that people come here and drain the economy by working and living here illegally. They should become citizens the proper way and we won't have this problem. The work visa thing is cool because they pay taxes instead of standing in front of Home Depot begging to hang drywall for $50. It is pure greed & its not only Mexicans,,,its Africans, Polish people, and more! Since their countries are so unfair they should stay there and work towards change intstead of coming here and sucking the life out of the USA! Everyone is trying to stick up for these people but I'm sure they wouldn't be so eager if they had jobs and resources taken away from them and given to an illegal because they'll work cheap. It's disgusting and unfair. Yeah there are some that want to live here like us and I respect that but if that's the case...TAKE THE TEST AND PAY THE FEE!

And I agree w/Britt, stop getting so worked up over the question's wording.
there's always gonna be people that do stuff like no matter where you go.
It's not because they're "Mexicans"
It's cuz theyre Human.
If you were an immigration attorney somewhere else there was immigration "problems" it would be the same.
Don't really know why you care so much anyways. I'm Latina but I'm from puerto rico. I have to admit, I do enjoy living here then puerto rico. But in time as I get older (like the people your talking about) I will love to retired and spend my life there.
You're in the wrong line of work.
The problem is, there seems to be a lot of people that cannot grasp the concept of Legal vs. Illegal. What about the Mexicans in Orange County, Calif. who were flying the flag of Mexico over an up-side-down American flag? Are they just poor Mexicans who came here to work, or Mexican trash dumped in our Country? What would happen to me if I went to Mexico and flew the American flag with an up-side-down Mexican flag under it? When American's visit Mexico, they 'BUY' things to bring back when they COME HOME. They don't go to suck off of Mexico. Watch some of the cop shows and see how many are Hispanic trouble makers and criminals. They don't care that they are making it hard for the Legals and good Hispanic's that are here or Mexican-Americans that were born here (the real ones, not the ones that sneak across the border to have their kids and use the kids to stay here. Why don't they get on their politicians in Mexico to make the country livable for their own people? Why don't the Mexican people demand it? Our forefathers fought for us to have the way of life we do--- why don't they do the same?
i agree with this answer 100%
And your question is...?

Dumbass!
