Same Responses in Washington. The phone lines were down today because of a hailstorm. Wonder Why Pharoah?! Call them at Home and their local offices...that should be cute! You know You can Post your opinions don't you? They can't hide forever! Emails are free at some sites!

Numbersusa is a good site to help you do this. I always get an assistant on the phone, but you can't be afraid to talk to them and don't let them BS you.
I haven't called but I have written several times. I actually received a response from one of them. It answered none of my questions and reminded me of why we should vote the imbeciles out!
Yeah, co-workers and I call and send mail. We've sent letters like this today (sorry, it might be long):
Dear Senator,
Please do not be influenced to support the proposed Immigration Reform Bill. This is not in the best interest of the majority of American people.
How can unskilled workers' benefit America? Sure, they will work unskilled jobs at a low, but then legal wage. However, this will not benefit taxpayers. It is known that one family gaining legal status living off of a low wage will become eligible for government assistance including healthcare, tax breaks, and education. After we struggle so hard to bring legal Americans out of poverty and off government and state assistance, we will only be creating another problem.
After the tax credits, the taxpayer would not be paying any taxes at all but will gain a large refund. This one family will be multiplied by the millions. We Americans strongly feel that this will result in higher taxes in the long run. We are already struggling in our dying middle class. We, as legal Americans have sometimes worked two jobs to pay for our college education and to make ends meet.
I can tell you that many people in the state of ******* strongly believe that two wrongs are not going to make a right. Anyone who comes to The United States illegally should have to return to their country of origin and re-apply following the standard procedures. This forgiveness will only teach people that it is ok to break U.S laws and to have no respect for them. I hate to ask myself this question, but some Americans are wondering, if illegal aliens do not have to follow America's laws, then why should the American people? As we all know, this is not right. American laws are put in place for a very good reason and should be respected and treated as so.
We Americans strongly embrace legal immigration because we are full of diversity. Immigration should start following a point based system now, not later, based on prior skills and education, not on a broken system for people with little education and skills. Shouldn’t the real question be, "What can these people do for America, not what America can do for them?"
Please do not support this bill, we are counting on you.
You can also fax and email. They at least (in most cases) get through. But by all means keep the phones ringing off the hook, too.
Yes I always write e-mails, make phone calls, etc. Barbara Boxer actually wrote me back to say she no longer supports the bill. We CAN make a difference!
I've made numerous attempts, email, phone, snail mail, but never a reply. One thing i did do was some reading. Couldn't giving amnesty to foreign invaders be considered Treason? Here's an excerpt from the constitution: Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court. I'd be more than willing to testify against my State Senators: Ron Wyden and Gordon Smith, Oregon. Let them vote for this bill. As soon as they do we should accuse them of treason in open court. Its an avenue I don't think anyone has put any thought into.
