THey ask him for money to help Bush push the immigration bill because the Democrats are trying to destroy it. He left the girl talking to eat. I agree with you, we can't support a party anymore. Pretty much. Amensty was given 20 years ago, and it was supposed to fix the illegal immigration problem. But it's worse than ever now.
Really good article. I enjoy listening to talk radio. My husband has been on our local talk radio station many times. 1470AM with Ray and Amir. I think talk radio is a good thing. We hear so much BS on TV that when we finally get the truth about what is going on people in Washington D.C. wants to shut them up.
He hit the nail on the head with this excellent well written column. This is exactly how many Americans including myself feel about all this Immigration bill.
He's right.. 20 years ago we heard the same speech.. that we had to do something about the illegals already in this country but that we were going to tighten security, and go after employers, and create laws that will halt illegal immigration. that it was a one time fix and that the government would never do it again. That our illegal immigration problem would never be that bad again...
So back then we were worried about what 1-2 million illegal immigrants... 20 years later we now have 12-20 million illegal immigrants- so no.. there is no faith- we let it go once.. we most certainly will not do it again

The opinion was close on the mark in the voters distrust of politicians. I agreed with parts...questioned others, but overall I agreed with the writer.

Good Article.I pretty much agree with it, but I question even then if this bill would have passed even if Americans trusted the good old boys up on the hill.There was simply too much money being attached to this bill thru other provisions that would have made any American suspicious...There were some provisions that were totally frivolous...like having to pay for Lawyers for some of these immigrants...uh HEELLLLOOOO...what would a Illegal Immigrant need a Lawyers for if he is getting Amnesty? And if it was for criminal reasons, then we dont want to import lawlessness anyways...
The biggest reason that this bill didnt pass was the American people do not believe capitol hill has any Integrity left...Look at the War in Iraq...Guantanomo Bay.Even the backroom dealing that kept people in the dark on this bill.cmon...Americans are not stupid...and when Pushed, will shove back...the vote yesterday genuinely reflected that American resolve on this issue.

Though their motives might be noble, today’s illegal aliens are much different from immigrants who come here legally generations ago. Their illegal status doesn’t make them bad people, but as long as they’re illegal, it is indeed bad for the diverse group of native and naturalized citizens who are proud to be American citizens.

Like many politicians, he talks sideways and never straight-forward..if any Fairness Doctrine should be adapted..it should be politician's always speak honestly and never lie.

I agreed with a good bit of it. i don't think the only reason the bill failed is distrust, I think it was also do to the fact that the illegals are criminals,most with an anti American attitude. Americans don't tend to want to see people rewarded who have already broken the law and so badly disrespected our country.
