My friend says i can travel to france without a passport as i have a full uk drivers licence is this true?

You may or may not be asked for your passport entering France, you will, however, be asked for it retuning to the UK. No passport, no entry. If the French immigration catches you without a passport...Whoooops. I live here and still have to carry it.

If you can't get a decent counter signature to get your passport than my friend you are not going any where with all the security between the US and UK,and getting through TSA,security to get too a plane to get to the UK,do you really think they are going to just let you get on a plane because you got a full UK,license if you believe that than I have swamp land in Alaska,I would like to sell you because your friend hasn't a clue as to what he or she is talking about good luck with that because it is not going to happen.
No, you will need a passport for personal travel to Europe at least from the U.S. If you are a UK citizen in the UK you may not.
