Should I become a Canadian Citizen?
Answer:
Before jumping to become a Canadian, why not visit Canada first? Most of the responses here are biased. Come and see for yourself if this is what you want. Experience if this is where you want to live and raise your family. **
no way, you would be forced to say "ay" after every sentence
Why yes you should.....
If you are willing to pay about $0.50 on a dollar in taxes - sure go ahead.By the way, canadian health care is not as peachy as it looks. There is still a lot of things you have to pay for,is not all covered as they like to say.
Yes, please leave if you are that easily influenced by propaganda.
NO PROS,NO CONS..BUT IF YOU HAVE ANY CRIMINAL BACKGROUND YOU WON'T HAVE A CHANCE.CANADA IS A BEAUTIFUL PLACE TO LIVE,VISIT AND SEE.MAYBE YOU SHOULD TRY A HOLIDAY HERE AND SEE HOW YOU LIKE IT.YOU MUST BE ABLE TO SUPPORT YOURSELF WITHOUT RELYING ON PUBLIC FUNDS.PROUD TO BE CANADIAN!
why yes you should...actually i think all people who don't like America or how its run should move out...my Canadian friend is hesitant about moving back because the taxes are so high...but that is socialism for you...
i'm a canadian and i say, your welcome to come here, but only if you renounce your american citizenship.
members an idiot, tax 15% but not on food and health care is execllant. all required procedures are paid for, you do pay for the ambulance (75-00$) and any extra services, but even your meals are included,
YES if your so naive that you believe that fat head you should renounce your US citizenship asap and go anywhere, I suggest Cuba
Just think. you can get "Free Health Care" and they only double your taxes.
For half the money you would be taxed in canada, you could buy a top notch Health care Plan in America!!! And deduct from your taxes!!!
My advised. Do your homework, stay here and pay FAR LESS to pay for a Health Plan, than the Taxes you pay in Canada to get it "Free"..
I went skiing in Canada 3 years ago. Beautiful country but the taxes were alot higher than here in the united states. I think we still live in the best country in the world. I know we have our problems but Michael Moore is FULL of propaganda. The thing that he and other people don't seem to realise is that even if you think the socialized medicine is a good idea. The government has taken control and eventually they will take control of something else and on and on until your freedoms are gone completely. One of the people skiing in our group fell and broke his arm of course since we are from america he had to use his own health coverage.(understandable) but we started asking some of the people how they felt about the socialized medicine and not one said they were happy with it. Most were very disgruntled with such high taxes. ( I don't remember what the tax rate was now but I'm thinking it was around 20%) Geez. That's 20.00 for every 100.00 you spend. It has to hurt the tourism industry and the general population. I know WE decided not to ski there again. Also, if you need surgery you cannot go to the doctor of your choice ( at least that's how I understand it) There are also waiting lists if you need something done. etc.etc.

I hope you're not moving just because of this movie. Americans may think it would be great to have national healthcare, but believe me, plenty of Candians DO NOT. It has flaws galore. Don't be so easily influenced by one-sided propaganda.
Go for it. I lived there for 8 years experienced their medical miracle. Its not a miracle and sometimes not even medical.
I worked for the Ministry of Health worked in and out of 7 hospitals in the Niagara region. Its pretty bad when a nurse hands you a blanket to kneel on..because the dust and dirt under the desks is so bad it will soil you clothes, I was trouble shooting a telephone issue.
It took me from June to Jan to have a simple knee oscope done. No MRI..that would have added an additional 6 months.
My ex wife waited once 9 months for a back MRI.
Its not as rosey as Mr. Moore makes it. I recently went to Wright Patterson Air Force Base for treatment, that hospital was so clean you could eat off t he floors. I it was cleaner than all 7 hospitals in the Niagara region of Ontario Canada.
My entry physical to apply for residence. Consisted of a xray machine, not the new ones that send the image to a computer, but the old fashion one from 30 years ago.
I guess next you will want to go to Cuba..yeah they have great health care to..
I say health care is never free, shouldn't be, but coming from a government who cannot even issue passports, control their borders, control illegals, DO YOU REALLY WANT THEM IN CHARGE OF YOUR HEALTH...
Sure, it's a free country - do whatever.
First, sit in the library in Derby Line VT and think about it.
You are free to do what you choose, but there are both pros and cons to the Canadian health care system. Research them carefully.
You do have more personal freedom in Canada though. The drinking age is 18, gays can marry, you can travel anywhere in the world you want from there, and I think certain drugs are legal.
Yea u should and get out of this country u non patriotic white boy. When the army will make us draft u will run across the boarder Ur a coward if Ur going to do that.
It depends. Do you like "Moosehead Ale" and hockey?
