Why will illegals continue to work in farm fields when they become legal for the low wages?
this immigration bill just does not make any sense. Please continue emailing and calling your senators.
NO TO AMNESTY!!
Answer:
Legalization is only the first step for illegals. next they will take the americans jobs that pay more. They say that the jobs that the illegals do is jobs that american people won't do. How in the world could they even say that. so many poor are out of work because no one will hire them and its my own opinion that the poor people will only get poorer at the expense of the illegals becoming legal in this country.
Because they speaka no englis.

Please explain how simply having citizenship will allow anyone to obtain a better job? If all I know how to do is pick lettuce, how will simply being labeled a citizen magically make me skilled enough to work in a retail store or hotel?
100% correct. We will see this same cycle 10-15 years from now.
Here I thought they already worked in all of those places. Maybe those who are unemployed should get off of there buts and go work in the fields. Hey maybe you could have your kids go do a hard days labor for once in there lives. Why should we have to rely on practically slave labor to pick our fruit? Oh yeah, because we are a bunch of lazy morons. (Besides, the Chinese pick fruit ten times faster than the Mexicans).
We will always have illegals,,,and there is no cure,,,,
It's all about lifestyles and living my friend. A lot of illegals (Mexicans mainly), don't mind living 5 to a room-they pool all their earnings and pay the rent, utilities, and subsistence that way. In Redwood City, Ca. there are LOTS of apartments where the landlord doesn't care how many people live in a dwelling, as long as the rent is on time, and paid in full. If rent is $1000/month for a two bedroom place, and there are 12 (yes, it's true) mexicans paying into that $1000, it makes complete sense that they don't mind making $8/hr. Catching on yet??
I believe you are correct on this. They won't continue to do low paying jobs over time. They will eventually move on to other jobs. The US uses statistics for everything. They will continue to evaluate high school and college graduate rates. Soon, they will develop more programs to help pay for college for example. These are to help bring that particular minority up to speed with other groups. In short, they will become the new minority that receives help and assistance until a new minority comes along in the years to come.
So if this bill passes, eventually there will be more quotas and statistics used by employers in which higher paying jobs will be taken by those who were once illegal (considering if they have the qualifcations).
However, on the other side, in the bill, the temporary workers program states that an employer must try for 90 days to hire an American first.
I seriously think this is exactly what Bush is wanting to happen...It isn't as if he will ever live around them or have to deal with them!
I wish everyone would be writing the their congressmen to use more money on education. Just because they become legal doesn't mean they are going to quit their jobs. They are here for their family. And as long as their family is getting a better life. Then that is all they need.
But of course wrongheaded, ignorant people such as yourself do not know anything about that. Because all you can do is see what other people say and go with them. Hopefully one day you can be smart enough to look some of the information up. And see what these people go through just to get into this country. Coming from a country that doesn't have laws that we take for granted every day
