I know, it's great. I don't understand why people don't realize this is a good thing for us. If it passes, they will not only have to pay taxes, but your Social Security numbers will be a lot safer. Not to mention that they will also be able to register their cars which means they can actually get insurance.good stuff.
Time to make the phones ring.

They've been saying right along it would come back which is why I'm still hammering the Senators with emails, faxes and phone calls opposing it.

The poll came out today on the Senate and House. If they want to keep their jobs they will run as far and as fast as they can from this bill.
I believe that immigration problems are directly related to national security. The invasion of illegals proves we can be invaded.
I never thought it was dead for sure. I was about to post a question myself. Here is the outline of the deal I found:

The officials who described the emerging plan did so on condition of anonymity, saying the negotiations had been conducted in private."
I understand the details weren't being discussed before the gang of 12 discussed it with Reid, though. I don't know that he has bought off on it yet. Did you hear on that point?
Don't you just love the 'transparency of government' where 'details' won't be released to the public until they are primed to try to cram a bill through, sans committee?

Me too, to the point where I figured Reid was either playing games by forcing the vote while Bush was gone, or figuring it couldn't close without him anyhow, so he would shelve it awhile.
we knew they was going to bring it back up. I'm 3 steps ahead of ya, i have been calling my govt and demanding our existing illegal immigration laws be enforced and saying no to this bogus bill. for an American you sure act like a communist to your country. why are you defending illegals when you are American? i don't care what race you are, your American first. traitor!!

Our walkabout Weekend Warrior needs a legacy, and this might be the only thing left to him. The Iraq War is a quagmire, the Right Wing Christian Coalition didn't get any of their agenda, He spent all of the money for the next three Presidents, and (in my humble opinion) his administration has tarnished the Executive branch of the government with scandals that make Bill's indiscretions look like locker room pranks. Personally, I'm amazed that the Republicans are giving in at all, considering the fact that they need to get re-elected and George W. Doesn't. It's a horrible bill that will end up accomplishing nothing but a guaranteed four billion for fences. I spent seven and a half years helping to tear down a wall in Berlin. You'd think we would learn something from that, but I guess not!
