I don't think you can get a liscence if you are illegal. I could be wrong though.
There are limitations in most states that will prevent you from obtaining a drivers license. I do believe that California may have made drivers licenses available to illegal immigrants.
There are many states that don't require that you show proof of citizenship, they only require that you show proof you live in the state. Michigan for instance requires that you show proof you live in the state. If you don't have a SS# you just have to sign a form saying you were never given one by the SS administration and you'll get your license. Washington also only requires that you show proof of being a resident of the state... There are quite a few more but those are the two that I know for sure.
According to the United States Naturalization Service, the last US state tu issue drivers licences was Michigan. Today, non of the states do that. Illegal nation-wide

i know about many illegal immigrants who lie with false documents and it is easier for them to get a license in Nevada(i live in California)...so it is not uncommon to see many Nevada license-plated cars driven by illegals who are actually living in California. it is easy to tell and people can report them :).
But i can guarantee you that there are many more states that issue licenses to illegals and who also have people who are willing to report.
To issue specifically to known illegals? Alaska, Connecticut, Idaho, Louisiana, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Utah, Washington and West Virginia.
Hawaii, Illinois, Michigan, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Utah, Vermont, Washington and Wisconsin also do not require proof of residency.
I was born here and they grill me like i am asking to be in the CIA or something...I guess if you are an illegal they will just hand it to you though .
not in all of them, but in the ones you can you need to prove that you live there and that you work, so call your secretary of state and ask them, maybe they got a list.

You can easily get a license in all of them...using ID and a fake US birth certificate, or fake ID and someone else's US birth certificate, like tons of other illegals. What is this, amateur night?
Just one thing. If you're caught, you might have to pay a small fine...then go way across town to the next DVM office and do it again. Jail? HA! Not gonna happen. They might call immigration? Are they gonna show up for one guy? HA! Not gonna happen. But what if they do? Will you get deported? HA! Not gonna happen. You might get a letter, then be released and be told to show up for a trial. Are you gonna show up?

You know, immigration used to be able to use DL address information to track down known criminal illegal fugitives by checking state DMV records. But, the individual states are now stopping immigration from using that fact to their advantage by no longer giving DL's to illegals .in their real names.
Don't be naive. What'd you think? This guy's not gonna drive anyway? And he'll have no registration and no insurance to go with that no license, thank you very much. So when he hits you while he's driving while under the influence, he's gonna have to run. Yeah, this "don't give 'em a license" thing is gonna work just fine.
