What would you do if your mom and/or kids were suffering..?

If your family was suffering greatly in poverity and was hungry and sick, needing health care and there was NO help 4 them what would you do to protect them?
Now put yourself in another place, say Mexico and you knew that if you could make it across the border (risking your life) you then would have a chance to provide your for your family, could you honestly say you wouldn't break the law? Be Honest!

Answer:
Incredible, 90% of the people above are not even bothering to answer the question!

You're $##@$% right I would sneak across the border!!!!!!

Now I do not deny there's more too it than this and people are not wrong to be frustrated and angry that they are paying more and more taxes because MEXICO will not bother to solve it's own problems and thinks the answer is to send everyone here, and worse yet acts so hypocritical. Try walking across the border from GUATEMALA and see what happens.

And certainly if you want to abuse welfare, steal an identitity, deal drugs, or drive drunk and kill someone no sympathy and a one-way ticket back with an invitation to NEVER return. That's a no-brainer.

What I DON'T get is why there is so much hatred and fear toward people who are giving this country more than they take from it. And if the immigration process and/or law is not letting these people come here legally, then the LAW and PROCESS is what is the problem. Not the immigrants.
My mother worked three jobs at one point to make sure my brother and i were provided for. Enough said.
it so easy to justify illegal behavior
How dare you suggest I put myself in another person's shoes?
hell yeah i would break the law. my family come first 100%
look at that ...... a compassionate empathic person,,,,,,,,i do not see many of those........
And that is my job to support them why?
I have no issue with people wanting to come to America, but as Americans do not need to fund other people's healthcare w/our tax dollars. They are criminals that should be deported. PERIOD. It does not matter the emotional response to your question, but whether Americans should pay for the failures of the Mexican government. If I knew it was wrong, I would not break the law.
go to a safe place, region, country, territory to start a new
I would have implemented a strategic plan to tactically overthrow the Mexican government. But that's just me. Quit being such a big pu55y and wake the hell up. They are NOT this country's problem. Period. Stupid a55 slave.
Running across the border is not the only way of providing for their families. Are you saying that there aren't any successful Mexicans who stay and make it in Mexico?

Illegals who come here are cowards who are too lazy to provide for their own 9 kids and need handouts from us to support their sorry behinds.
So using that same logic...if my family needed money I could import several hundred kilos of cocaine into the country? Breaking the law is acceptable as long as it is improving your life...heck I think most crimes are committed to get money in one way or another...poverty does not excuse criminal behavior...they should stay in their own country and try to make it better or come here legally like my wife did... (my wife is Colombian)
Honestly I would run and dance across border.

Does this make that right and good...NO
If my kids/mom/wife were starving I would steal and kill..should I start killing people now? Should we just throw out all law, order, reason, goodness? No more consequences for anything? How can you allow people to run across a nation's border but at same time say people cannot break into each other's houses?

Let me put it another way...Does the end justify the means?

Did you never stop to think WHY we have border controls? Ever hear of plague? Disease? Ever consider what is brought in if it will destroy our ecology?

Here is a true story from MY family. My great-grandfather had to come over ALONE since USA would not accept Irish Immigrants without any support. SO the family was broken up and he came all alone and found a place to live and got a job..had to work for a while and get a place the family could fit into and then pay for the passage and then after *2 YEARS* my family was allowed to come over to America to life with my great-grandfather. THAT is how you better your life..you follow the rules and work hard...you DON'T break whatever law you deem not worth following and then come and demand you get an equal share to someone who followed the rules.
Of course they would do what is best for their children. EVERYONE would. But, don't you see, US citizens want to do what is best for OUR children too! We want our children to grow up in safe neighborhoods, free of gang violence. We want our children to attend a kindergarden class that all speak the same language. We don't want our hospitals bankrupted. Are you suggesting that we should care MORE about their children than we do about our own?

Also, most US citizens would agree that it is not wise to create a family when there is question as to whether or not you can even feed them. I recognize that in the Catholic religion, large families are encouraged. But even the Church encourages forms of family planning these days. It just makes sense.
One if I was that bad off the last thing I should do is have kids. These people created their own reality brought these problems to themselves why shouldn't they have to live with the consequences of their attitudes to life? The same thing they did in Mexico is the same thing they do here just have kids and let it be someone else's problem.I would be smart enough not to bring life into a world where I myself am wondering where my next meal is coming from. Where will I get my next job.
Should American citizens who are living in poverty and have no health care break the law? Well, they are and we call them criminals and put them in jail. There are no more jobs in the ghetto than there are in Mexico so what's the difference. We have to draw a line against crime somewhere in the sand and it might as well be at the border. Good Luck and God Bless
Wouldn't it be easier to go to somewhere in Mexico and find a job ?
Be honest
After all they speak Spanish in Mexico and they could legally work in Mexico.
I have found a map that shows all kinds of places in Mexico where someone might find a job.

Is it okay if Americans break the law to support their families?
Think burglary,drug dealing,shoplifting. identity theft

Are you saying it is okay to break the law and put others at risk as long as your needs are met?
Be honest
Seems like a really self serving outlook to have- I can see why people that think like that don't need to be in this country.

EDIT: Amen Zoe- what the heck are people who can't feed their families doing spreading their legs in the 1st place? Seems like a case of you made your bed, moron.
Abstinence is free
Imagine if your family was unable to make ends meet because your taxes had to be raised to support a growing welfare population. Imagine you couldnt afford health insurance because the hospitals had to make up for not getting paid for services rendered to illegal immigrants by passing those costs on to you. If you put the burden of every 3rd world country on the citizens of the US, there will come a day when we collapse under the dead weight.
I understand why Mexicans, or other foreigners want to come here, but you have to understand why we can't just let everyone who wants to come here, come here.
No I wouldnt break the law. I would find some other way to provide for them.
There's the solution, teach he kids that its OK to break the law because you're too lazy to try and work within the system to provide for yourself. I've been to that border, and have YET to see a "poor" migrant. I have, however, seen hundreds of well nourished, and well dressed (almost all with brand new sneakers) criminals crossing that border.

Will someone PLEASE show me these "starving" migrants crossing that border with their last bit of energy?
I would do the same thing. Its not that the people in Mexico don't try to work or provide for there families, but its because of the corruption that they can not provide better. Like you said some people need to put themselves in somebody elses shoes. I mean where in the United States, so some people can't sympathize for they other people in high poverty countries, because they have never known what its like to live a certain way and have no say on how the government is ran.
Put up the fence!!!
enough with the heart-strings!
do the right thing! abide by the rules and don't break the law!
you don't do the right thing, don't expect any sympathy from me! my grandmother's family was so dirt poor, she literally was sent to the neighbors' farm, to beg for firewood. she lived in Europe during WW I. she came to America legally and became a citizen.
do the same.
How then are people comming up with a couple thousand dollars to be smuggled here? Why not go south of the border where people speak your language if so many have no intention of learning English?. If by comming here for a better life, why are so many so totally ungrateful and rude about it?

If I was breaking the law to feed my family I sure wouldn't bite the hand that's feeding me. I'd be bending over backwards in gratitude.....not screaming in their faces and demanding more. I would hope I would be humble enough to beg for mercy......not blatently break more laws and demand more. I'd learn their language and do everything in my power to prove I was worth the risk instead of causing a national up-roar.
Aren't you making the case that these illegals are some how not as smart or capable as the early American settlers?

The early American settlers suffered Indian raids, starvation, disease, loss of crops, plague, sabotage, lack of supplies, dangerous weather, and they had to figure out everything by trial and error. Plus -- the early settlers were oppressed and under times under "threat of death" by the Empire of England ... the Empire of Spain and the Government of France. These settlers were being pushed around by the world's 3 super powers at that time plus having to deal with the many different Indian tribes there.

And yet ... look at what the early settlers built the United States into! Look at what we accomplished during WW II -- we defeated imperialist Tojo Japan and Nazi Germany's sophisticated war machine.

So this begs the question. If the early settlers who had everything against them can fight back against oppression and create a better life then why can't these illegal aliens do the same in their own country?
Think back to the late 1700s - it's called revolt, and fix what's wrong with where you are! Don't go drain another country's economy. Thank goodness our founding father's stood up against a bad government - too bad Mexicans won't do the same.
I think your assumption is falty. A lot of people coming from Mexico are coming to take advantage of programs paid for by American tax payers - education, health care, food, housing, clothing, etc.

It's wrong. Period.
I wouldn't keep having children I couldn't afford.
I would beg and borrow, but I don't believe I would go to another country and steal from there children just to feed mine.
Now American children are suffering because of all the immigrants coming to their schools.
Besides, I don't want my paychecks paying for you and your family to live a better life when I don't make enough to make my own life that great! Ask me again when the government pays my rent and food.
read what you have just posted. sometimes when we read things twice, we see the ignorance in our statements. you basically have condoned criminal activity for the purpose of self improvement. Unfortunately, the world doesn't work like this. We live in a world of poverty and unfortunate living. The US cannot compensate for everyone misfortune. We have these laws for a reason. Stating that it's not their fault for crossing the border to get help is nothing less than condoning a man to rob a bank to feed his children.
