Bad idea Michael. The country is rampant with drugs and crime. Makes this country look like a country club. Also, the poverty level is extremely high. This would be a great deal for Mexicans but a real ball and chain for the US.

I've given quite a bit of thought to this issue before. And at first (looking at the short term massive amounts of money that could be made by seizing control of their oil) i said yes. However a couple of years later and heavier in the vast amounts of knowledge gained. I would have to IMPLICITLY say HELL NO!!!! Not until a couple of key problems are done away with here first.

One illegal alien street gang per small town is bad enough. We don't need a dozen competing street gangs in our neighborhoods.

My wife knows a couple from our school who fled Mexico city because they found out they were on a "kidnap list". That's how screwed up it is over there. Do we want to make it even easier for this mess to fill up every nook and crany of America?
"Take over mexico?" How? By War? The death toll resulting from a war with Mexico might be in the millions. Can you imagine the terrorist activity theat would occure in the US? Not at all a good idea.
That would be a good way to stop illegal immigration, to just make us all one big large country, it's not like they like it anyways, they are all coming here!

No way! We´d have millions of people on welfare overnight and Medicare/Medicaid would go bankrupt. Taxes would skyrocket and it would take too much time and effort to clean up crime and corruption in newly assimilated Mexico. Try asking this question 100 years from now, when the Mexican government has hopefully cleaned its act up.

The Government can't even help our own people in need, we have a loss in jobs, no reasonable health insurance offered for everyone, we are envolved in a war that is really going on due to personal gain and not 911, we have our heads stuck in everyone elses business while there is no help here for those who really need it here. I would say no, but on the other hand we are running their ecconomics, by giving in to their demands, and taking their illeagle people in the USA. Who knows, but I do agree that we would be taking more than we could handle. I say cut off some economic santions and stop them from ruding on our coat rails. Keep our factories from going there and ruining our country. And tax the hell out of them if they try to get their products into the United States.
