yes the Guatemalans are doing the jobs in mexico that the mexicans wont do. sound familiar? that's why they are coming here and doing what they are doing. they are treating us this way because the guats kicked their butts out of their own country.
Sucha comedian. I've NEVER seen Mr. or Mrs. Middle Class America doing ANY of the jobs that "all those terrible illegals" do. There's plenty of Americans who could learn a thing or two about the work ethic from these people.
Only 25% of the "agricultural jobs" in the U.S. as a whole are filled by illegal aliens. This means, guess what, the other 75% are filled by Americans.
There is no job in the U.S. that Americans won't do.
I suppose construction jobs are another job Americans "won't do". There are as many illegal aliens working in construction as there are "working in the hot sun picking apples".
In regard to the comment about "work ethics". I get sick of people saying that these immigrants will do the jobs that us Americans won't do because we are lazy or too proud. How about thinking about the fact that the cost of living is too high for someone to be earning 3 dollars and hour picking cherries on "Mr Goldsteins" plantation. These immigrants work these jobs because they don't have a choice and it really doesn't take much money to live off of when you are living in an apartment cooped up with 3 or four families. To answer your question, most of our produce is picked by illegal aliens and some are in this country. Don't forget that it's the corporations who are all for this immigration reform. I mean really..why pay someone a full salary and medical benefits when you can have PePe come over here and work for 3 dollars and hour and collect medicaid at the taxpayer expense. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind paying taxes but I do mind paying for a pregnant mother who hopped my taxpayer funded fence at the Texas-Mexican border illegally.

Okay, it's not that Americans do not want to the jobs it's because we don't have to. If you read the article that I have provided it states that 2/3 of the illegals immigrants are high school drop outs. Reason would say then that they cannot just walk into Microsoft and get a CFO position right? Okay so what would be the rational choice to put food on the table, yes go to the fields. With that said, I graduated from High School and went to college I have a great job in an office. Why because I made the decision to stay in school and felt that I did not have to work in the fields. Now if the illegals stayed in school instead of worrying about how they are sneak across the border undetected then they probably would not HAVE to work in the fields. Do you see where I am going with this? Better education gets you a better job, we all have a choice that's why I do not feel sorry for them.
In the area I live in, illegals are not doing jobs we want to do. They are here because the poultry plants cannot hire enough people to so the jobs. And it is not because they are paying the illegals less money. Still, it doesn't make them legal. They need to go.
The reason most produce is grown in another country is because a lot of it CANNOT be grown on American soil. Also, I, as a Guatemalan, can tell you that none of us have a need to go to Mexico to work. The emigration rate in Guatemala is not nearly as high as that of Mexico. Mexicans are doing the jobs in Mexico. You are acting like ALL of them live here now.
